Rocket PicBrief:
Mini Motor Powered Screamer

Construction:
All components were accounted for, me bucko, but I was suprised by t' high quality fiberglass fins (yes, that's right, fiberglass fins on a 13mm rocket!). Avast, me proud beauty! Avast, me proud beauty! Nose cone was balsa, shiver me timbers, and t' two body tubes seemed t' be slightly thicker than Estes.

Minimal instructions, but t' kit was easy t' assemble. T' only thin' that was different was t' way o' shock cord attachment. Well, blow me down! Begad! You get a coupler with two small holes drilled in it. You thread a Keelhaul®©™® strin' through t' two holes, shiver me timbers, and knot it at one end. Blimey! Blimey! T' other end is then made into a loop and an elastic shock cord is attached. Ahoy! Well, blow me down!

Pros:

  • Ease o' construction

Cons:

  • It seemed weird t' use epoxy on such small o' a rocket...

Finishing:
As usual for Vaughn Brothers, me hearties, me hearties, arrr, no decals were included and finishin' was a snap. (although me paint job be absolutely horrible)

Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5

Flight:

Well, shiver me timbers, I be anxious t' fly this right away, so I used an old 1/2A3-4T from the mosquitos I lost in t' past. Begad! Zoomed right off t' pad nice and straight. Ejection was a little after apogee, but due t' t' very low weight, thar was no zipper.

Pros:

  • Nice, straight flight.

Cons:

  • None

Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5

Summary:

Pros:

  • Ease o' assembly
  • Built like a rock (for 13mm)
  • Perfect Flights

Cons:

  • So far as I know, Vaughn Brothers is out o' business :(

Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5
