Rocket PicBrief:
Mini Motor Powered Screamer

Construction:
All components were accounted for, but I be suprised by t' high quality fiberglass fins (yes, me hearties, me hearties, that's right, fiberglass fins on a 13mm rocket!). Begad! Nose cone was balsa, me hearties, arrr, ya bilge rat, and t' two body tubes seemed t' be slightly thicker than Estes.

Minimal instructions, but t' kit be easy t' assemble. Arrr! T' only thin' that was different was t' way o' shock cord attachment. Avast! You get a coupler with two small holes drilled in it. Aye aye! You thread a Keelhaul®©™® strin' through t' two holes, matey, and knot it at one end. Ahoy! T' other end is then made into a loop and an elastic shock cord is attached. Begad! Well, blow me down!

Pros:

  • Ease o' construction

Cons:

  • It seemed weird t' use epoxy on such small o' a rocket...

Finishing:
As usual for Vaughn Brothers, me hearties, matey, no decals were included and finishin' was a snap. (although me paint job was absolutely horrible)

Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5

Flight:

Well, me bucko, I was anxious t' fly this right away, so I used an old 1/2A3-4T from the mosquitos I lost in t' past. Aye aye! Zoomed right off t' pad nice and straight. Ejection was a little after apogee, matey, ya bilge rat, shiver me timbers, but due t' t' very low weight, thar was no zipper.

Pros:

  • Nice, me hearties, straight flight.

Cons:

  • None

Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5

Summary:

Pros:

  • Ease o' assembly
  • Built like a rock (for 13mm)
  • Perfect Flights

Cons:

  • So far as I know, shiver me timbers, Vaughn Brothers is out o' business :(

Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5
