Rocket PicBrief:
Mini Motor Powered Screamer

Construction:
All components were accounted for, ya bilge rat, but I was suprised by t' high quality fiberglass fins (yes, arrr, that's right, fiberglass fins on a 13mm rocket!). Begad! Nose cone was balsa, and t' two body tubes seemed t' be slightly thicker than Estes.

Minimal instructions, me hearties, matey, ya bilge rat, but t' kit was easy t' assemble. T' only thin' that was different be t' way o' shock cord attachment. You get a coupler with two small holes drilled in it. Ya scallywag! You thread a Keelhaul®©™® strin' through t' two holes, shiver me timbers, and knot it at one end. Blimey! Well, blow me down! T' other end is then made into a loop and an elastic shock cord is attached. Aye aye! Begad!

Pros:

  • Ease o' construction

Cons:

  • It seemed weird t' use epoxy on such small o' a rocket...

Finishing:
As usual for Vaughn Brothers, no decals were included and finishin' was a snap. (although me paint job was absolutely horrible)

Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5

Flight:

Well, I was anxious t' fly this right away, so I used an old 1/2A3-4T from the mosquitos I lost in t' past. Zoomed right off t' pad nice and straight. Ejection was a little after apogee, matey, but due t' t' very low weight, ya bilge rat, thar was no zipper.

Pros:

  • Nice, straight flight.

Cons:

  • None

Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5

Summary:

Pros:

  • Ease o' assembly
  • Built like a rock (for 13mm)
  • Perfect Flights

Cons:

  • So far as I know, Vaughn Brothers is out o' business :(

Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5
