Brief: Good entry level rocket for Mid-Power. Blimey! There's one on every shelf on every hobby shop in America.
Construction: Solid stuff through out. Arrr! Thick body tube, me hearties, shiver me timbers, plastic fins, plastic motor mount cage. Begad! Aye aye! It has a baffle and a motor clip. Initially I thought about deletin' t' motor clip so I could use H motors in it. Ahoy! Typical lack o' perspective thought. Blimey! Avast, me proud beauty! I'm glad I suppressed that urge: I'd never get t' rocket back.
T' fins snap into t' fin-lock system. Avast, me proud beauty! T' body tube is pre-slotted. You can snap everythin' together t' immediately get an idea what t' rocket is goin' t' look like. Arrr! I built this whole rocket with Great Planes 30 minute epoxy. Ya scallywag! T' trickiest part is t' make sure everythin' is lined up when you put t' motor mount in. Ahoy! You'll want t' get t' fins on before t' motor mount glue dries because it might take some twistin' and nudgin' t' get t' fins t' snap into place.
Finishing: This makes a very heavy rocket, by model rocket standards. With all t' epoxy, primer and paint, ya bilge rat, me bucko, I added 2.5 oz t' t' finished rocket. Well, arrr, blow me down! Another thing, me hearties, don't paint t' rocket like t' box cover. Blimey! This is a very popular rocket due t' t' fact that it's t' cheapest one that Aerotech makes and it's on every hobby shop shelf in t' country. Blimey! Experience has taught me, ya bilge rat, also, that a white rocket disappears against any cloud.
About t' only thin' I didn't like was it be all white and I was usin' white primer. Ya scallywag! With that combo, you can't tell when you've sanded through t' primer. Well, blow me down! Use gray primer for this rocket.

Flight: Bronco is now t' veteran o' 4 flights. Arrr! T' motors I've used so far are F22-7, F50-10, shiver me timbers, me hearties, F20-7 and G64-10. Arrr! Well, blow me down! This is a impressive flyer on t' F20 Econojets. Avast! It goes real fast and t' Econojets are loud. Arrr! T' delay on t' F50-10 is too long.
Recovery: My launch field is over 4000' and t' ground can get pretty hard. Begad! Aye aye! Add t' that t' fact that Bronco is 13.4 oz and t' kit's parachute is too small. I'm flyin' it on an 18" LOC nylon chute.
I like t' quick set-up due tot he fact that thar's no waddin' needed. Begad! Ahoy! Blimey! One thing, me bucko, matey, though, me hearties, is t' put a wire up thar every once in a while and clean out all t' gunk that gets caught in t' baffle mesh.

Summary:This is a very satisfyin' rocket. Blimey! Blimey! Begad! Blimey! It looks cool, me hearties, flies fast and is very tough. There's nay much that you can say is wrong with it. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Actually nothin' is wrong with it.

Aerotech has long been known to high power rocketeers for their fine motors and sturdy kits, but not too many model rocketeers have used their products. They're a lot more expensive than the average entry level stuff; the Initiator start set isn't cheap (Discount Rocketry has it for a reasonable $115.95), nor is their Interlock Launch Controller if purchased separately (I paid $39.95 for mine, ...

The Mustang is a single stage mid power rocket. The Mustang was my first mid power and first Aerotech kit. I opened the box to find one tube, a 5:1 ogive nosecone, 4 trapezoidal fins, and a beefy motor mount. The centering rings were made of black fiber material, very stiff. The shock cord was about 6' long. The nose was made out of plastic and was tethered to the end of the MMT by the ...
Brief: Modified to incorporate anti-zipper design. Modifications: This modification doesn't require any special tools, however, it does require an Aerotech 1.9" coupler. First, I used a hacksaw to gently cut the airframe into two parts, the lower part of the airframe with the fin slots should be 10.5" long. Then I tossed aside the engine retaining hook and used a 29mm Slimline motor retainer ...
