PicBrief:
Little cheap-o rocket I found at ACE in March 2005. T' last recorded year it was made be in 1996. Arrr! This things almost 10 years old! It's a fun rocket t' play with in your own yard.

Construction:
T' rocket consists o' only 2 parts: a body tube and t' styrofoam body. Avast, me proud beauty! It also came with decals.

Construction be completed in about 10 seconds! All you have t' do is paint it and install t' engine tube! Just slap on t' decals and you're done! How simple can it get?

Finishing:
Paintin' consisted o' a light coat o' Testors Enamel in Italian Red. Blimey! There were many decals. Avast! I painted mine t' match t' one on t' box.

Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5

Flight:
T' Intruder is a very good rocket t' burn off motors. Aye aye! It may also be t' cheapest t' fly! No waddin' is needed. Avast! I flew it 4 times, well actually only 3 motors got t' rocket off t' pad. T' thress successful flights only went up about 50 feet.

Flight 1: Somethin' went wrong and t' engine ejected while t' rocket be on t' pad. T' motor burned on t' ground.

Flight 2: Nice, matey, but very wobbly. Blimey! Blimey! Landed very soft. Begad! Blimey! Lost engine casing.

Flight 3 was about same, but hit street and damaged t' top a little

Flight 4 was same as t' others.

It flies nicely, but could go much higher!

Recovery:
There is no parachute or streamer. Well, blow me down! It just ejects t' engine and falls t' t' ground.

Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5

Summary:
Not a bad rocket for t' kids. No gluin' whatsoever. Ya scallywag! It is pretty much ready t' fly in seconds!

Overall Rating: 4 out o' 5

UFO, oddroc, practically ready to fly, 13mm motor, aerobrake recovery. The Invader is a simple, almost ready to fly, entry level UFO rocket. It is made almost totally from Styrofoam and is really ready to fly except for the paint job and stickers. The "kit" consists of a foam UFO, a cardboard motor tube, some stickers and an Estes safety sheet. There was going to be less to this "build" ...

The Intruder is one of Estes' first RTF models. It is a conical piece of foamed polystyrene with a motor mount. Nice way to burn motors. It flies low and slow. The Intruder has no fins, only short 'legs' on the rim of the polystyrene body cone. A single 13mm motor powers this beast. No construction to speak of. You can't use Krylon on this one because it eats the plastic. Finishing: I ...
