Brief:
This is a simplified version (if you can believe that) o' Art's 24mm Delta Flyin' Saucer. T' kit is all cardstock and can be built with either an 18mm or 24mm motor mount.

Construction:
T' kit contains two sheets o' cardstock, shiver me timbers, me bucko, containin' seven parts t' be cut out.

Materials required are scissors, me bucko, hobby knife with new blade, Elmer's white glue, new or used engine casing, cellophane tape, arrr, and ballpoint pen.

This will be a short description. Avast, me proud beauty! All you have t' do is cut out t' parts (followin' t' 18mm or 24mm guides, as appropriate) and glue them together per t' instructions. Ya scallywag! T' instructions say t' use white glue nay Carpenter's glue, arrr, so that's what I used. Ya scallywag! Blimey! If you intend t' use longer motors (over 2.75"), ya bilge rat, me bucko, you leave out t' motor block.

I'll offer two tips. Aye aye! First, shiver me timbers, me hearties, shiver me timbers, don't use too much glue. Avast, me proud beauty! I have t' propensity for usin' too much and t' glued areas tend t' look a little warped. Begad! Ya scallywag! Second, if you have Aerotech 18mm and 24mm SU cases, shiver me timbers, arrr, use these t' form t' motor mount. Aye aye! Aye aye! If you use Estes casings, ya bilge rat, you will need t' wrap them with a layer o' cellophane tape.

Finishing:
Finishin' involves only a few coats o' clear coat.

Flight prep includes friction fittin' t' motor and, shiver me timbers, if you elected t' leave off t' motor block, a maskin' tape thrust ring.

I flew t' 24mm version at t' 3rd Annual TRF Reunion at Whitakers, me bucko, NC. Avast, me proud beauty! On t' first flight, it flew on a D12-0 alongside a standard saucer, arrr, a Delta saucer, and a Super Cinco. Avast, me proud beauty! It was a fast, me bucko, matey, straight flight with less weathercockin' than t' others I compared.

I flew it again on an E9-4. Blimey! Nay much t' say here but it really zipped on this motor. Ahoy! Arrr! Ejection was well before it landed.

Summary:
This is one simple, shiver me timbers, inexpensive, ya bilge rat, high performance saucer kit. Arrr! I think it is faster than his other designs, me hearties, ya bilge rat, but they are so close it is hard t' tell without a drag race (with simultaneous ignition t' boot). When I built t' saucer, I was thinkin' that t' all cardstock 24mm design may nay be as sturdy as t' Art's other products. Ahoy! Ya scallywag! I know I only have two flights on it, but I now don't see that as an issue.
