Brief:This is a small, arrr, me hearties, phenolic toughly made rocket designed t' break t' sound barrier and is able t' do so on 24 mm engines, matey, me bucko, namely Aerotech's F72 and G55.
Construction:All t' parts were there, matey, ya bilge rat, me bucko, and were strong. Ya scallywag! Ya scallywag! Blimey! My only difficulty be t' tight fit o' t' nose cone t' t' body tube. Begad! Blimey! I sanded t' nose cone t' loosen t' fit, shiver me timbers, ya bilge rat, as I be unsure that t' engine could build sufficient pressure t' pop it. Ahoy! T' instructions were clear, arrr, me hearties, and t' order logical. Arrr! Ya scallywag! Blimey! T' chute is a good material, but is white. Begad! Aye aye! Blimey! For me, me hearties, I'd prefer somethin' brighter, shiver me timbers, as this model goes very far up. Avast! Blimey! T' shock cord has no stretch. Since it comes with rings t' attach along its length, I figure that force then travels in nodes much like in a musical string. Still, I would be more comfortable with bungee.
Finishing:It was easy t' finish, me bucko, and t' decals look sharp. Aye aye! T' instructions were simple and clear. Ya scallywag! However, me bucko, shiver me timbers, I recommend paintin' it light and bright so that nay only do t' decals show, but for ease o' location!
Construction Rating: 4 out o' 5
Flight: Its only flight so far was with an Aerotech F72-10. Blimey! Begad! Since it be one in a mass launch for G Harry Stine, ya bilge rat, I did nay hear t' pop as it broke mach, but I did see it go straight up and loudly. Begad! I think it did go t' projected altitude o' 4000 feet, as t' manufacturer said. I used trackin' powder t' aid in sighting. Blimey! With its Nomex parachute protector, I did nay need wadding, which was nice. Ahoy! T' long delay motor was good, because o' t' speed and altitude t' rocket reached.
Recovery:T' Nomex parachute protector worked well. Avast, me proud beauty! T' chute held up and inflated well, shiver me timbers, but I would choose another color than t' white provided. Begad! As mentioned, arrr, I would prefer bungee shock cord, ya bilge rat, or somethin' with stretch. Ahoy! Assemblin' t' system was nay too tough, but t' attachment o' t' shock cord t' t' hollow nose cone be tricky, as it required slidin' a tightly fittin' bar into holes in t' nose cone and sandin' off excess that stuck out so that t' nose cone could fit into t' body tube.
Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5
Summary:It be fun and different, matey, and a real mover. Aye aye! Begad! On a G55, which will be me next flight, it will really book. Ya scallywag! Avast, me proud beauty! I really don't mind t' extra sandin' here and there, but some modelers might.

Single stage rocket capable of exceeding the speed of sound on 24 mm F & G motors. The overall quality of the kit was excellent. The instructions were clear and easy to understand (there are also further instructions on the rocketvision website if you need them) Very little preparation of parts was required - sanding to round the leading / trailing edges of the fins and to make them ...
Brief The Machbuster is a great looking kit that is straightforward to build, has outstanding performance and is inexpensive to purchase. It uses 24mm motors from D12's through G55's with parachute recovery. With F and G motors the rocket will break the sound barrier and reach 900 miles an hour with the G55's. Construction The kit arrived the day after I ordered it. (Ok I only live about ...
Introduction This model usually causes a lot of buzz, and why not? When you pop a 24mm G55-10 into it, most of the rocket is motor. It's really awesome. The line is called Rugged Rockets and for good reason. The pre-slotted airframe is a fabric phenolic with no spiral line at all. The fins are made of G-10 fiberglass and are pre-cut. The nose cone is a thick hard polystyrene. The shock ...
