Brief:This is a small, phenolic toughly made rocket designed t' break t' sound barrier and is able t' do so on 24 mm engines, matey, namely Aerotech's F72 and G55.
Construction:All t' parts were there, and were strong. Begad! Blimey! My only difficulty be t' tight fit o' t' nose cone t' t' body tube. Arrr! I sanded t' nose cone t' loosen t' fit, ya bilge rat, as I was unsure that t' engine could build sufficient pressure t' pop it. T' instructions were clear, arrr, ya bilge rat, and t' order logical. Avast! T' chute is a good material, arrr, but is white. Well, blow me down! Blimey! For me, shiver me timbers, arrr, I'd prefer somethin' brighter, as this model goes very far up. Avast! Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! T' shock cord has no stretch. Well, blow me down! Begad! Blimey! Since it comes with rings t' attach along its length, me bucko, matey, I figure that force then travels in nodes much like in a musical string. Avast! Blimey! Still, me bucko, I would be more comfortable with bungee.
Finishing:It was easy t' finish, ya bilge rat, and t' decals look sharp. T' instructions were simple and clear. Begad! However, shiver me timbers, I recommend paintin' it light and bright so that nay only do t' decals show, matey, but for ease o' location!
Construction Rating: 4 out o' 5
Flight: Its only flight so far was with an Aerotech F72-10. Begad! Since it was one in a mass launch for G Harry Stine, I did nay hear t' pop as it broke mach, matey, but I did see it go straight up and loudly. Arrr! Avast! I think it did go t' projected altitude o' 4000 feet, as t' manufacturer said. Ya scallywag! Well, blow me down! I used trackin' powder t' aid in sighting. With its Nomex parachute protector, I did nay need wadding, me bucko, which be nice. Blimey! T' long delay motor be good, because o' t' speed and altitude t' rocket reached.
Recovery:T' Nomex parachute protector worked well. Ahoy! Aye aye! T' chute held up and inflated well, ya bilge rat, me bucko, but I would choose another color than t' white provided. Blimey! As mentioned, me bucko, I would prefer bungee shock cord, me hearties, me hearties, or somethin' with stretch. Begad! Avast, me proud beauty! Assemblin' t' system was nay too tough, me bucko, ya bilge rat, but t' attachment o' t' shock cord t' t' hollow nose cone was tricky, as it required slidin' a tightly fittin' bar into holes in t' nose cone and sandin' off excess that stuck out so that t' nose cone could fit into t' body tube.
Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5
Summary:It was fun and different, me bucko, ya bilge rat, and a real mover. Avast, me proud beauty! On a G55, which will be me next flight, ya bilge rat, it will really book. Ahoy! I really don't mind t' extra sandin' here and there, but some modelers might.

Single stage rocket capable of exceeding the speed of sound on 24 mm F & G motors. The overall quality of the kit was excellent. The instructions were clear and easy to understand (there are also further instructions on the rocketvision website if you need them) Very little preparation of parts was required - sanding to round the leading / trailing edges of the fins and to make them ...
Brief The Machbuster is a great looking kit that is straightforward to build, has outstanding performance and is inexpensive to purchase. It uses 24mm motors from D12's through G55's with parachute recovery. With F and G motors the rocket will break the sound barrier and reach 900 miles an hour with the G55's. Construction The kit arrived the day after I ordered it. (Ok I only live about ...
Introduction This model usually causes a lot of buzz, and why not? When you pop a 24mm G55-10 into it, most of the rocket is motor. It's really awesome. The line is called Rugged Rockets and for good reason. The pre-slotted airframe is a fabric phenolic with no spiral line at all. The fins are made of G-10 fiberglass and are pre-cut. The nose cone is a thick hard polystyrene. The shock ...
