Brief

Basic equipment. Aye aye! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! Doesn't include launch pad, ignitor, shiver me timbers, me bucko, or engines. Well, blow me down! Blimey! Does include decals, 12-inch parachute, and three fins. Begad! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! Easy and fun t' make (takes about 20 minutes).

Components

T' fins and nose cone are plastic. Fins easily snap on. Well, blow me down! Ahoy! Body tube is re-inforced cardboard. Begad! Shock cord is rubber. Avast! Blimey! 16 inches tall, me hearties, 1.33 diameter, matey, arrr, 1.8 ounces.

Construction

Very easy t' install. After fins and decals are installed, thar be just pre-flight prep before launching. Only bad part is that you don't get much freedom about how you want t' rocket t' look.

Finishing

Decals are nice, matey, but still, nay much freedom.

Construction Score: 3

Flight

Flew great two times. Drifts way too much from wind because it is too light.

Recovery

Parachute is affected by wind too much.

Flight Rating: 3

Summary

Okay rocket.

  • Estes Dragonite By John Lee (January 10, 2008)

Brief: The Dragonite is a simple, EX2 rocket with an equally simple 3FNC design. It requires only the simplest of assembly and recovers under a 12" chute. I bought this kit for my step-son hoping to get him interested in rocketry. He was 15 at the time and chose this one because he liked the color scheme. The rocket is long gone now and I am doing this review from memory ...
