Fat-Ass-Tron  Sprint
T' Fat-Ass-Tron Sprint:

T' F-A-T Sprint is a combination o' t' Estes Fat Boy, and t' Astron Sprint. Begad! It was originally created t' address one o' t' Fat Boy's inherent design flaws, shiver me timbers, arrr, ya bilge rat, that bein' it's inability t' contain a 38/720 motor casing. Begad! Avast, me proud beauty! While flyin' t' Fat Boy on 'I' motors is somewhat entertaining, matey, ya bilge rat, shovin' that NC-80B into and possibly beyond t' transonic range requires just a little more effort. Aye aye! Avast! T' extra 2" o' length from t' F-A-T Sprint's boat-tail is enough (along with all that wasted space in t' nose cone) t' contain a J-350, arrr, matey, and it also provides a subtle improvement (along with t' sleek and stylish elliptical fins) t' t' already outstandin' aerodynamic qualities o' t' original Fat Boy.

While ponderin' just where t' hell t' CP o' this vehicle might be, shiver me timbers, it was determined that it might be prudent t' research t' location with a lower powered model. While it would be simple t' incorporate t' fins and boat-tail into a stock Fat Boy kit, shiver me timbers, t' version illustrated here is slightly more ambitious, ya bilge rat, arrr, intended for 29mm single use motors.

F-A-T SPRINT LONGITUDINAL SECTION

T' BT-80 supplied with t' kit does nay seem likely t' withstand repeated applications o' 'G' motor thrust, arrr, and t' forces o' high velocity 'chute deployments. Well, blow me down! Glassin' might help, but would also build up t' OD o' t' tube and create a mismatch with t' nose cone. Begad! In this design, me bucko, me hearties, t' base o' t' nose cone shoulder is removed, allowin' a heavier internal tube t' extend into it, providin' additional room t' contain t' recovery system, improved resistance t' zippering, me hearties, and increased strength.
