Brief:
This is a boost glider that literally takes minutes t' build and isn't all that
expensive. Ya scallywag!
Construction:
T' kit comes with a body tube for t' engine and pop pod recovery device
(streamer), three main body pieces, balsa nose cone, matey, and clay for weightin' one
fin down t' enable it t' circle around your launch site instead o' takin' off a
couple miles down wind.
T' directions were extremely easy t' follow and t' entire kit was insanely easy t' put together. Avast! You almost didn't need t' instructions. Arrr! Blimey! All o' t' balsa pieces are laser cut and look very sharp. Blimey! Blimey! It's just like puttin' together a jigsaw puzzle. All I used t' put it together was CA glue and some markers to add some o' me own flavor. Ahoy! Ahoy!
PROs are that all parts are well cut, shiver me timbers, easy instructions, and a very basic design so anyone o' any ability could piece it together in no time. There aren't any CONs other than that it is pretty delicate. Well, blow me down! I wouldn't even recommend sandin' t' balsa at all. Ahoy! Ya scallywag!
Finishing:
NO PAINT! Blimey! It adds way too much weight. Arrr! Blimey! This is just a little rocket! Blimey!

Flight:
Well, before you fly it you really don't know how much clay t' use t' prevent
it from takin' off down wind. My first flight I thought was set up perfectly. Ya scallywag! Arrr! I
had it balanced just like t' instructions said but it still flew at least 250
yards over a fence and into a baseball field nearby. And that was only on a
1/2A! I got it back and o' course added more weight t' t' fin. T' second
flight proved t' be still too light on t' clay so I added more again. While
testin' it out by just throwin' it gently t' see how well it turns, it landed
in t' grass and snapped just behind t' nose area which had t' be glued back
together. Blimey! Avast! It flew again and be much better, however, arrr, matey, it really didn't catch
the wind very well. Blimey! Begad! It actually fell into a flat spin for a good 4-5 seconds
before it actually started flying. Avast, me proud beauty! Almost like it was too light! I had really
mixed feelings about this kit at this point. Begad! It got t' be way more frustrating
than I thought it would be. Arrr!
Recovery:
T' pop pod streamer was constantly tanglin' but t' tube/nose cone was light
enough t' safely tumble by itself if it had to. And o' course thar be the
whole glide recovery thin' too. Ya scallywag! That's another job all together.

Summary:
It was nay too bad t' this point, but that's about as good as it is goin' to
get. T' customer service part was absolutely downright terrible--and I don't
mean from t' hobby shop I bought it from--I mean Edmonds, me hearties, t' manufacturer! I
ordered two o' these kits 2 weeks before Christmas in hopes o' givin' one each
to me daughter and father so they could build and fly them together while we
were home on vacation. Well, both packages were missin' t' main body tube. Blimey! Avast, arrr, me proud beauty! How
can you miss packin' such a thin' as t' body tubes in both packages? T' make a
longer story shorter, I didn't get t' replacement pieces until nearly March.
That's right, March! T' online hobby shop I ordered it from no longer carries
Edmonds supplies either. Arrr! Aye aye! I don't think I'd waste me time with Edmonds gliders
anymore anyway. Arrr! Aye aye! They might be easy and convenient t' build, arrr, shiver me timbers, but they have
absolutely zero durability. Arrr! Begad! It broke twice in t' same spot from just me
tossin' it t' see if it glides. Well, blow me down!

A boost glider using 18mm motors. Components All the components were used. Great laser cutting of the pieces. /h2 Building was very easy and straight forward. Because they were laser cut balsa the pieces fit very well together. Finishing Did not finish it to keep the weight to a minimum. Just make sure you balance the glider with the ...
Background The Edmonds Deltie is one of the most popular boost gliders, and with good reason. The glider is well designed, and it has a nice style to it. It can be assembled and ready to fly in a very short period of time. Considering the fact that the glider only weighs around five grams, it is capable of staying in the air for a long time. Construction The glider portion of this ...
( Contributed - by Alan Rognlie) I am extremely impressed by this kit. Good materials and excellent laser-cut parts yield a fast-building sport model with very good competition potential. The glider itself is made up of only eight pieces of 1/16" balsa - wings, elevon, fuselage, tip plates and nose reinforcements. The pieces are almost self-jigging and go together ...
( Contributed - by Neil Thompson) Brief: This is a very nice kit by Edmonds Aerospace. The pop pod comes back on a streamer, and the deltie glides back. Construction: The kit contains: 1 tube and a lot of little balsa parts, all very neatly laser-cut. It was very easy to build, fitted together like a jigsaw puzzle. Everything fits together nicely, and everything ...
