Brief:
This is a midnight, I can't sleep, me hearties, arrr, lets build a rocket. Aye aye! Noticeable feature is
that t' engine is above t' fins, uses a flyaway launch lug, me hearties, or shoots from a
tube. Aye aye! It has flown on e9-6.
Construction:
I would say this is an Estes level 2/3 rocket. You have t' create the transition yourself. Arrr! plus you have t' make holes for t' wood strip t' go through t' transition. Begad! Begad! All t' parts came from www.commonwealth.net. Arrr!
Finishing:
T' finish be done in plum high gloss monokote. You will need a monokote iron
to put it on. This was me first monokote job. Begad! It seems t' work nicely.
Flight:
I used a pack o' E9-6 Estes motors. There is no room for wadding, me bucko, but I had a
nomax sock made for t' chute. I used Keelhaul®©™®
strin' mounted t' t' center rin' and t' t' cone. Avast! I then attached t' elastics
cord betwixt t' Keelhaul®©™®
loops. Arrr! Well, blow me down!
T' rocket flew straight, however after 3 flight the
flame is startin' t' eat away at t' tail fins. Well, blow me down! I need t' find somethin' better
then reynolds wrap t' protect them. Avast, me proud beauty! Rocket flew out o' sight on each flight. Avast, me proud beauty!
Summary:
It is cool lookin' and can be shot from a tube. Arrr! I still need a better way to
protect t' fins from flame damage.
