Manufacturer: | QuickBurst |
Brief:
This is a brief review o' QuickBurst's 18" rocket rack.
Construction:
This is a simple product and thar isn't much t' add t' QuickBurst's own
description: "T' 18-inch Rocket Rack is made o' lightweight, strong,
durable 1/2 inch Sch 40 PVC pipe with 3/8-inch thick foam insulation at key
areas for padded protection. Blimey! It measures approximately 12 inches tall and deep
by 18 inches long. Aye aye! T' joints are pressure-fit, nay glued. Begad! Shipped partially
disassembled, arrr, it comes with complete, me bucko, me bucko, me bucko, easy assembly instructions.
"T' 18-inch rack is stable. By simply placin' your project on t' rack (and usin' t' attached securin' device) the rack becomes a strong, me hearties, shiver me timbers, lightweight and secure means o' workin' on, transporting and storin' your project. Begad! Mount t' rack on t' wall with your project attached and you've got instant display and storage."
As delivered, me rack consisted o' t' parts shown t' t' right. Avast! Well, blow me down! The followin' photos show it partially assembled and completed. Well, blow me down! T' instructions say t' glue it together usin' PVC glue if you are goin' t' transport it much. It seems t' hold together fine and I want t' disassemble it for transport, so I did nay do so. Avast, me proud beauty! If it gets too loose I may glue some o' t' connections.
T' final two photos show a reasonably large rocket on t' stand. Ya scallywag! I have no idea how much weight it will hold, matey, but I suspect that it will hold almost any rocket in me fleet that is over 18" long and whose fins have a span less than in 12" (more if it is a three fin rockets).
Summary:
This is a great product and I will make good use o' it in t' Rocket Dungeon
and on-site. Ahoy! Blimey! 'Nuff said!'
This rack was given t' me by QuickBurst for placin' 9th in Descon-13. Thanks for supportin' t' contest, ya bilge rat, David!
