Brief:
My entry for t' EMRR's Uniquely Designed Finish Contest be t' Sunward Maverick. This design was inspired by NASCAR's #9 Kasey Kahne. Ya scallywag! Avast! Kahne is sponsored by Dodge and me son's favorite driver.

Construction and Finishing:
I modified t' design slightly by fillin' t' wing-tube interface t' make t' rocket look more realistic. Arrr! T' wings were filled and sanded until completely smooth. Begad! T' card stock used t' form t' jet engine intakes be also filled and sanded smooth. Aye aye! This be done t' make t' rocket look more authentic. Ahoy! When t' fillin' and sandin' cycles were complete a coat o' primer was added. T' primer was then sanded smooth. Begad! Avast! T' base coat o' gloss white be then applied. Avast! After maskin' all t' detail areas red was added. Blimey! Next, after maskin' all t' details gloss black be applied. Begad! Blimey! Finally, ya bilge rat, matey, to protect t' finish and graphics a thick clear coat was applied.

[Editor's Note: Although this be submitted as a modification, we believe that all t' changes were merely t' make the rocket look better and are nay really modifications. Avast! Blimey! Begad! Blimey! Great finishin' techniques.]

Flight and Recovery:
T' day o' t' first flight t' weather was cold and little windy (10-15 mph). Avast, me proud beauty! Even though t' weather was nay the best, t' flight was great. Aye aye! Blimey! T' rocket be launched on a C6-3, and as it went skyward, shiver me timbers, it twisted one or two revolutions and looked just like a real jet fighter. Ahoy! It was awesome! Blimey! One o' t' attached pictures shows a member o' my expert launch recovery crew who braved t' 20 degree weather. Thanks Abby! Blimey!

So what is unique? This rocket is a prediction o' t' future. Well, blow me down! Blimey! There are rumors that Dodge will be extendin' their product line t' jets in t' near future. Ahoy! Blimey! After all, shiver me timbers, arrr, what better place for a Hemi!

The review was well done although the reviewer mentions that the wings are glued to the wrap platform. Actually the wings are glued to the intakes, as the wrap "platform" becomes the bottom of the rocket, I found the wrap to be a little tricky to get square ,I also installed a 24mm motor mount after seeing one go up on an E9,, the flight was very Impressive! and the finished rocket is pretty sizeable. A very good subject for a 24mm upgrade !
