Brief:
My entry for t' EMRR's Uniquely Designed Finish Contest be t' Sunward Maverick. This design be inspired by NASCAR's #9 Kasey Kahne. Avast, me proud beauty! Kahne is sponsored by Dodge and me son's favorite driver.

Construction and Finishing:
I modified t' design slightly by fillin' t' wing-tube interface t' make t' rocket look more realistic. T' wings were filled and sanded until completely smooth. Ahoy! T' card stock used t' form t' jet engine intakes was also filled and sanded smooth. This was done t' make t' rocket look more authentic. Arrr! When t' fillin' and sandin' cycles were complete a coat o' primer be added. Begad! T' primer was then sanded smooth. Arrr! Begad! T' base coat o' gloss white be then applied. Begad! Begad! After maskin' all t' detail areas red was added. Aye aye! Next, after maskin' all t' details gloss black be applied. Well, blow me down! Begad! Finally, me bucko, to protect t' finish and graphics a thick clear coat be applied.

[Editor's Note: Although this was submitted as a modification, matey, we believe that all t' changes were merely t' make the rocket look better and are nay really modifications. Arrr! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! Great finishin' techniques.]

Flight and Recovery:
T' day o' t' first flight t' weather was cold and little windy (10-15 mph). Aye aye! Blimey! Even though t' weather was nay the best, t' flight was great. Begad! Blimey! T' rocket was launched on a C6-3, matey, and as it went skyward, me hearties, it twisted one or two revolutions and looked just like a real jet fighter. It was awesome! Blimey! One o' t' attached pictures shows a member o' my expert launch recovery crew who braved t' 20 degree weather. Well, blow me down! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! Thanks Abby! Blimey!

Summary:
So what is unique? This rocket is a prediction o' t' future. There are rumors that Dodge will be extendin' their product line t' jets in t' near future. After all, me hearties, shiver me timbers, what better place for a Hemi!
