Brief:
Single Stage, streamer recovery.

Construction:

  • Body Tube: One Estes BT-5 4.5 inches long. Well, blow me down! Ahoy!
  • NoseCone: PNC-5. Well, blow me down!
  • Fins: 3, 1/16 Basswood. Blimey! Avast, arrr, me proud beauty!
  • One Motor Block: Cardboard. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Aye aye! Blimey!
  • Shock Cord: 10 inch o' 70lb. Aye aye! Keelhaul®©™®
  • Steamer: Red Mylar 1.5 X 15 inch.

This took about an hour t' build. Ya scallywag! T' paintin' took a little longer, 2 colors bright yellow over white. Begad! Blimey! All supplies were purchased from local hobby store, Hobbytown USA. Begad! Blimey! Redmond, me hearties, WA.

Flight:
Recommended motor: A3-4T. That be t' motor I used. Ya scallywag! Preparation: Estes wadding paper, arrr, t' rocket is small, ya bilge rat, arrr, me bucko, if you have big hands you might need a buddy to hold t' rocket for you. Ahoy! Aye aye! Flight: T' Mini Aimers flew straight, matey, fast and into the overcast o' t' mid-afternoon. Ya scallywag! Begad! Shock cord technique: Quest style, tied off at t' motor mount. Aye aye! Recovery: Delay is a little too fast, T' only reason I say that is I was missin' about 3 inches o' steamer.

Summary:
PROs: It is easy t' build, inexpensive t' fly, and it goes really high. Begad! Blimey! CONs: None.
