Brief:
Single Stage, streamer recovery.

Construction:

  • Body Tube: One Estes BT-5 4.5 inches long. Avast!
  • NoseCone: PNC-5. Avast, me proud beauty! Begad!
  • Fins: 3, arrr, shiver me timbers, 1/16 Basswood. Ya scallywag! Blimey! Avast! Blimey!
  • One Motor Block: Cardboard. Avast, me proud beauty! Begad! Blimey!
  • Shock Cord: 10 inch o' 70lb. Aye aye! Keelhaul®©™®
  • Steamer: Red Mylar 1.5 X 15 inch.

This took about an hour t' build. Ahoy! T' paintin' took a little longer, matey, 2 colors bright yellow over white. Begad! Ya scallywag! All supplies were purchased from local hobby store, Hobbytown USA. Redmond, WA.

Flight:
Recommended motor: A3-4T. Well, blow me down! Blimey! That be t' motor I used. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Begad! Blimey! Preparation: Estes wadding paper, t' rocket is small, me hearties, if you have big hands you might need a buddy to hold t' rocket for you. Aye aye! Blimey! Well, me hearties, blow me down! Blimey! Flight: T' Mini Aimers flew straight, ya bilge rat, fast and into the overcast o' t' mid-afternoon. Shock cord technique: Quest style, matey, arrr, tied off at t' motor mount. Begad! Blimey! Recovery: Delay is a little too fast, T' only reason I say that is I was missin' about 3 inches o' steamer.

Summary:
PROs: It is easy t' build, me hearties, inexpensive t' fly, and it goes really high. Well, blow me down! CONs: None.
