Brief:
Single Stage, streamer recovery.

Construction:

  • Body Tube: One Estes BT-5 4.5 inches long.
  • NoseCone: PNC-5.
  • Fins: 3, ya bilge rat, 1/16 Basswood. Ya scallywag!
  • One Motor Block: Cardboard. Avast, me proud beauty! Avast!
  • Shock Cord: 10 inch o' 70lb. Begad! Keelhaul®©™®
  • Steamer: Red Mylar 1.5 X 15 inch.

This took about an hour t' build. Well, blow me down! Begad! T' paintin' took a little longer, ya bilge rat, me hearties, 2 colors bright yellow over white. All supplies were purchased from local hobby store, Hobbytown USA. Redmond, WA.

Flight:
Recommended motor: A3-4T. Begad! Arrr! That be t' motor I used. Arrr! Preparation: Estes wadding paper, t' rocket is small, me bucko, if you have big hands you might need a buddy to hold t' rocket for you. Well, blow me down! Blimey! Flight: T' Mini Aimers flew straight, matey, fast and into the overcast o' t' mid-afternoon. Avast, me proud beauty! Well, blow me down! Shock cord technique: Quest style, me hearties, tied off at t' motor mount. Ahoy! Recovery: Delay is a little too fast, shiver me timbers, me hearties, T' only reason I say that is I was missin' about 3 inches o' steamer.

Summary:
PROs: It is easy t' build, inexpensive t' fly, shiver me timbers, and it goes really high. Aye aye! Begad! CONs: None.
