Brief:
Single Stage, me bucko, streamer recovery.

Construction:

  • Body Tube: One Estes BT-5 4.5 inches long. Well, blow me down!
  • NoseCone: PNC-5.
  • Fins: 3, 1/16 Basswood. Blimey!
  • One Motor Block: Cardboard. Ya scallywag! Well, blow me down!
  • Shock Cord: 10 inch o' 70lb. Begad! Blimey! Keelhaul®©™®
  • Steamer: Red Mylar 1.5 X 15 inch.

This took about an hour t' build. Blimey! Blimey! T' paintin' took a little longer, arrr, 2 colors bright yellow over white. Aye aye! Ya scallywag! All supplies were purchased from local hobby store, matey, Hobbytown USA. Ya scallywag! Avast, me hearties, me proud beauty! Redmond, me bucko, WA.

Flight:
Recommended motor: A3-4T. Well, blow me down! That be t' motor I used. Avast! Arrr! Preparation: Estes wadding paper, t' rocket is small, if you have big hands you might need a buddy to hold t' rocket for you. Arrr! Flight: T' Mini Aimers flew straight, fast and into the overcast o' t' mid-afternoon. Shock cord technique: Quest style, arrr, tied off at t' motor mount. Well, ya bilge rat, blow me down! Recovery: Delay is a little too fast, shiver me timbers, T' only reason I say that is I was missin' about 3 inches o' steamer.

Summary:
PROs: It is easy t' build, inexpensive t' fly, and it goes really high. Begad! Blimey! CONs: None.
