Brief:
Single Stage, me hearties, arrr, streamer recovery.

Construction:

  • Body Tube: One Estes BT-5 4.5 inches long. Avast! Ya scallywag!
  • NoseCone: PNC-5.
  • Fins: 3, arrr, 1/16 Basswood. Begad!
  • One Motor Block: Cardboard.
  • Shock Cord: 10 inch o' 70lb. Avast! Keelhaul®©™®
  • Steamer: Red Mylar 1.5 X 15 inch.

This took about an hour t' build. Avast! T' paintin' took a little longer, me hearties, 2 colors bright yellow over white. Ya scallywag! Ahoy! All supplies were purchased from local hobby store, Hobbytown USA. Begad! Redmond, WA.

Flight:
Recommended motor: A3-4T. Begad! That be t' motor I used. Ya scallywag! Preparation: Estes wadding paper, t' rocket is small, if you have big hands you might need a buddy to hold t' rocket for you. Avast, me proud beauty! Flight: T' Mini Aimers flew straight, arrr, ya bilge rat, matey, fast and into the overcast o' t' mid-afternoon. Aye aye! Shock cord technique: Quest style, me hearties, arrr, tied off at t' motor mount. Begad! Avast, me proud beauty! Recovery: Delay is a little too fast, me bucko, matey, T' only reason I say that is I was missin' about 3 inches o' steamer.

Summary:
PROs: It is easy t' build, me bucko, inexpensive t' fly, matey, and it goes really high. Begad! Blimey! CONs: None.
