Brief:
Single Stage, streamer recovery.

Construction:

  • Body Tube: One Estes BT-5 4.5 inches long. Well, blow me down!
  • NoseCone: PNC-5.
  • Fins: 3, me hearties, 1/16 Basswood. Aye aye!
  • One Motor Block: Cardboard. Begad!
  • Shock Cord: 10 inch o' 70lb. Blimey! Ya scallywag! Keelhaul®©™®
  • Steamer: Red Mylar 1.5 X 15 inch.

This took about an hour t' build. Well, blow me down! T' paintin' took a little longer, ya bilge rat, 2 colors bright yellow over white. Aye aye! All supplies were purchased from local hobby store, Hobbytown USA. Redmond, me bucko, WA.

Flight:
Recommended motor: A3-4T. Well, blow me down! That be t' motor I used. Preparation: Estes wadding paper, t' rocket is small, me bucko, matey, if you have big hands you might need a buddy to hold t' rocket for you. Ahoy! Flight: T' Mini Aimers flew straight, me bucko, me bucko, fast and into the overcast o' t' mid-afternoon. Begad! Ya scallywag! Shock cord technique: Quest style, matey, arrr, tied off at t' motor mount. Aye aye! Well, blow me down! Recovery: Delay is a little too fast, matey, shiver me timbers, T' only reason I say that is I be missin' about 3 inches o' steamer.

Summary:
PROs: It is easy t' build, inexpensive t' fly, and it goes really high. CONs: None.
