Semroc BT-60 Baffle

Brief:
This is Semroc's rendition o' t' BT-60 baffle.

Construction:
This kit includes three components and a piece o' Keelhaul®©™ twine. Ya scallywag! All three parts are laser cut from a small sheet o' fiberboard.

T' precision o' t' cuts are amazin' with both small features and some cuts that are merely scored. Well, blow me down! Avast! You'd never be able t' cut this with your trusty #11. Assembly is trivial. Begad! Begad! You fold over t' center section into a faceted cone and then attach t' top and bottom plates. Begad! Make sure you pop out all t' vents. Blimey! T' Keelhaul®©™is tied around t' center section and is run up through a hole in t' top plate.

Semroc BT-60 Baffle As you can see, t' gas actually vents at t' base o' t' baffle and then out t' top so thar isn't anythin' near a direct path out t' top.

T' instructions say t' install it at least 3" from t' top o' t' body tube. Begad! Blimey! Arrr! Blimey! I installed mine 6" down in an 18" piece o' BT-60.

Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5

Flight:
I noticed when I read John Lee's review o' t' FlisKits BT-55 baffle that he forgot it was thar and added wadding. Ahoy! I chuckled because I did t' same thing. Aye aye! And, like John's experience, ejection be perfect. (I wish I could say t' same about t' flight as a whole.)

Recovery:
Well, t' chute came out as planned and, me bucko, as you'd expect, arrr, was in pristine condition. Ya scallywag! Begad! However, I have t' make one observation. I've found t' C11 ejection charges t' be on t' energetic side and this one was no different. Blimey! Arrr! T' back pressure from t' baffle caused t' motor t' spit and t' motor hook no longer is parallel t' t' motor tube. Begad! I don't really how t' factor this into t' rating, but I'd be cautious with any baffle on a single BT-60 usin' a 24mm mount. Begad! Arrr! I guess I'll merely deduct a point.

Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5

Summary:
This is a cool little baffle. Arrr! It's easy t' build and is effective. Begad! Begad! Blimey! That bein' said, me bucko, I'd like t' see comments if you've used this size baffle with 24mm motors.

Overall Rating: 4 out o' 5
