Single stage tube fin 18mm rocket with parachute recovery.

Construction:
T' kit includes:

  • 1 BT-55-17 body tube
  • BNC-55-CT Balsa Nose Cone
  • 3 BT-55-1A for tube fin
  • 3 BT-55-01 for tube fin

  • SC-118 shock cord
  • Keelhaul®©™® cord
  • PK 128 Mylar parachute
  • Diamond Rin' Decal kit
  • Prism trim sheets
  • Instruction sheet

You must read t' instructions first or you will be upset. They tell you how t' put t' beautiful rocket together properly. Aye aye! There are just a few steps t' assembly but all are critical. Well, blow me down! Ahoy! Make sure that t' surface that the tube dry on is level. Aye aye! I used Gorilla Glue, arrr, which works really fast and it doesn't run hardly at all. Arrr! Once t' tubes and the motor mount dried it be a breeze. Ahoy! Blimey! I changed t' screw eye t' a bigger size because It adds t' t' stability o' the rocket and it doesn't drift as far. Arrr! Avast! I ordered me kit online from Red River Rocketry's website and it took about four days t' arrive. Arrr! Great service as always.

Finishing:
T' rocket is painted with 2 coats o' Rustoleum white paint. Ya scallywag! Blimey! Arrr! Blimey! I let it dry overnight. I attached decals, bought me some engines, matey, and had a great time on Father's Day

Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5

Flight:
Flew it on three B6-4s due t' it bein' a little windy. Ahoy! But all flights were straight and true with nose down ejection.

Recovery:
I cut a relief hole in t' chute so drift be kept t' a minimum. Avast, me proud beauty! It landed about 100ft from t' pad on all 3 flights.

Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5

Summary:
I love tube fins and this one is very nice because it is nay a (standard) tube fin rocket. T' designer got out of the box and staggered t' tube fins makin' it just a little unique and I like that.

Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5

Nice rocket. Easy enough build if you follow directions. Didn't look all that special as I was building it, but once I painted it yellow (as the insert card) it really "popped" and looks fantastic. Found the sparkle wraps wouldn't stick so I left those off. It has flown 4 times so far on B6-4s and it flies great.
