Brief:
I can't believe it. Begad! Blimey! I actually bought a Micro Maxx starter set and a bunch of engines. Ahoy! Blimey! I guess t' desire t' launch more than once a month (twice at best), and without travelin' 45 minutes or more, arrr, got t' better o' me!

Construction:
I got me set, arrr, ya bilge rat, with a single Tomahawk Cruise Missile, me hearties, ya bilge rat, at Wal-Mart for $9.99 + tax, as I remember. Ahoy! They only had this and a couple o' 4FNC rockets available at t' time and I wasn't too interested in those. Begad! T' set included three Micro Maxx-II engines and four igniters. Ahoy! These engines have 150% t' total impulse of t' originals (0.3 vs. Aye aye! Ahoy! 0.2 N-sec). Avast! Begad! T' launcher appears t' be as described in earlier reviews and includes t' base unit with integral controller, me hearties, matey, a three-piece interlockin' shell, launch rod, safety interlock/launch rod cap, me bucko, me hearties, and a display stand for t' Tomahawk.

Flight:
I am impressed with t' launcher. It is well engineered and houses all launch components in a nice self-contained package. Well, me hearties, blow me down! So far, I have launched five rockets with no ignition problems. Avast, me proud beauty! I be worried about t' launcher matin' with non-Quest kits, me bucko, arrr, but have nay had a problem so far. Aye aye! My launches off this controller have included:

1. Tomahawk - successful
2. Tomahawk - successful
3. Mini105 (a converted 10.5mm rocket) - successful
4. MM-CTV (Micro Maxx Cluster Test Vehicle) on 3 engines - successful
5. Apogee Micro-V2 - too heavy for this engine

Even with t' heftier MMX-II motors, t' Tomahawk proved t' be barely stable. Arrr! Arrr! That is, it kept a generally upward trajectory while it wobbled around. T' piston ejection worked fine, but t' streamer did nay deploy. Ya scallywag! Arrr! The performance was nay that great either but it landed close by, then I bought the set for t' launcher anyway. Begad!

Summary:
I am very happy with me MMX launch system and have plans t' buy some Nano Rocketry kits and tubin' for scratch-builds. Blimey! Blimey! T' MMX-II motors have enough impulse t' be interestin' on small rockets. Arrr! Blimey! T' controller is well built and is easily adaptable t' run off 12v. Ya scallywag! Blimey! However, arrr, ya bilge rat, t' launcher has been reliable for me and, shiver me timbers, for now, arrr, I am happy havin' a small portable system. Begad! My ratings for this starter set are: Launch system - 5 MMX-II motors - 5 Tomahawk RTF - 2 Composite ratin' - 4.5
