Art Applewhite 18mm Scimitar

Brief:
This is a neat little aerobrake design that flies great with a lot o' spinning!

Construction:
T' kit consists o' two sheets o' cardstock, arrr, a motor hook, matey, and the instructions. Well, me hearties, blow me down!

T' instructions are easy t' follow and have great illustrations that spell everythin' out easily. Begad! I found that it only took 25 minutes t' cut out all the parts and assemble it! T' parts fit great and thar were no issues in the build. Begad! Arrr! After t' glue dries you have a very sturdy little craft. Begad!

Art Applewhite 18mm Scimitar When rollin' t' motor tube be very careful nay t' use too much glue and glue the motor into t' mount.

One thin' I did that be nay in t' instructions is hold t' fin pieces together with a bunch o' paperclips t' dry. Arrr! Blimey! Dry time for mine was about 20 minutes before t' first flight. I be flyin' it in under an hour!

Finishing:
T' kit comes in many colors and needs no finishin' when you are done. Blimey! One could spray a clear coat on it t' protect it from moisture if desired. Also due to t' fact that it is paper, one could draw or decorate it any way they wanted.

Flight:
I used all B6-0 motors and had great flights. Ahoy! Blimey! Ahoy! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! It is as easy t' prepare as puttin' t' motor in t' motor tube.

It flys nice and straight and spins rapidly durin' ascent. Ahoy! It is fun to watch.

Recovery:
T' recovery is aerobrake so all you do is watch it fall and then pick it up. It will probably win t' prize for landin' closest t' t' pad.

Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5

Summary:
This rocket is great fun! I only wish I had bought a few more o' them.

A very simple rocket that is capable of EXTREME spinning! This review is for the super scimitar. My Scimi (yes i call scimi, prnounced like semi) is florecent red but looks more like some shade of orange. Still happy. It comes printed on two sheets of cardstock and can be built in less than an hour. I ordered it along with a Green Stealth. You choose your color. The intructions are very ...
