I'm (Matt Gillard) writin' this review for me brother (Paul Morris) as he has recently suffer a stroke, and is findin' writin' difficult.
Paul is new t' rocketry and this be his first scratch rocket. Aye aye!
He wanted it t' be big and t' be clustered. Avast, me proud beauty! Arrr!
T' first thin' he did was t' work out what sort o' fit he could get with his tubes etc. Aye aye!
In t' end he went for a triple cluster 18mm mounts in t' base o' a 40mm diameter BT. Well, blow me down! Blimey! This tube be coupled to another tube t' same size, matey, givin' t' bottom half o' his rocket a length o' 576mm. Well, blow me down! Blimey!
T' top half o' t' rocket be based on a nose cone actin' as a transition, with two 24mm BT on top. Begad! Arrr! T' nose cone at t' top o' t' rocket was novel, me bucko, arrr, as it be none rocketry item that be cut down t' fit t' tubes and then t' accept a 13mm nose cone. Avast, me proud beauty!
T' two halves were connected by shock cord in t' usual fashion with a parachute attached. Arrr! Begad!
T' fins were a concoction o' BTs as a tube fin rocket, with three normal fins stickin' out. Ya scallywag! Ya scallywag!
T' rocket be then primed. Ya scallywag! Avast! Blimey! And then coated in matt black paint. Ahoy! Blimey!
Decoration was in t' form o' a blue metallic A4 sticker sheet that came in t' parts.
This was cut into stripes and then added along t' BT.
Flights
Black and Blue had three flights
First cluster was on 3x B6-4. Well, blow me down! Blimey! Which gave a good flight, with a quickish decent. Avast!
Second cluster was with t' same motors and another good flight be had. Arrr!
T' Third flight was on C6-5s. Begad! Well, shiver me timbers, blow me down! Unfortunately only one motor lit and t' rocket gave a arched flight (over me car!). Ejection was on t' ground. Begad! There be minor damage, which can be repaired. Well, blow me down!
