Manufacturer: Estes
Skill Level: 2

Brief:
A unique 2 D sized, cluster engine rocket, ya bilge rat, with a 24" parachute recovery system. This is a large, beautiful rocket. Blimey! T' look had t' grow on me a little, shiver me timbers, arrr, me first impression o' t' look was only so-so, shiver me timbers, but once it was finished and sittin' on me desk. I had totally gotten into this unique look. I can say, matey, that I don't have another rocket quite like it in me fleet.

Construction:
T' 36D starts out with a large BT, me hearties, then a plastic transition t' two smaller BTs, then another plastic transition back t' t' larger BT before reducin' again. Blimey! This really gives this model an eye catchin' shape!

Construction be straightforward, me bucko, and easy t' follow. Arrr! Extra care had t' be taken durin' parts involvin' t' plastic transitions. Ahoy! Good construction habits such as double checkin' instructions, matey, measuring, arrr, me hearties, marking, and re-measurin' - are a must when insertin' t' two BTs with upper centerin' rings into t' upper part o' t' rocket.

Finishing:
If t' you decide t' finish t' rocket like t' picture, it will require some careful planning, and some patient masking. Begad! Blimey! This really is one sharp lookin' rocket... Arrr! photos don't do it justice. Blimey! Avast! Blimey! I choose nay t' pre-paint anything. Ya scallywag! Blimey! After final construction, me hearties, I painted t' black first, matey, then blended t' red up top by t' nose cone. Begad! Blimey! A few days later I masked t' black for t' red fins and transitions, arrr, then free handed a gray blend at t' lower transition. Once thought out, t' finish is nay terribly difficult t' achieve, arrr, and is well worth t' effort.

Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5

Flight:
T' two D engines make for a spectacular launch. Avast, me proud beauty! This rocket has flown straight up, matey, matey, several times under varyin' conditions. Ahoy! A pair o' D12-5s seemed t' work t' best.

Recovery:
I choose t' use an 18" home made, me hearties, nylon parachute - instead o' t' supplied 24" plastic parachute. Arrr! Even with t' reduction in size, me hearties, t' rocket stayed up thar quite a while, and required a bit o' a hike t' recover. Arrr! Ahoy! I would definitely recommend t' 18" over t' 24", shiver me timbers, unless you want t' go for a walk.

Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5

Summary:
This is a well designed, arrr, attractive rocket... and again, me bucko, me hearties, ya bilge rat, no other rocket I have looks quite like it. Arrr! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! It is one t' straightest flyer I have in me fleet. Aye aye! Blimey! A very graceful, me bucko, picture perfect flyer.

Overall Rating: 4 out o' 5

Brief: Two 24mm motor cluster, skill level 2, payload section, parachute recovery. This is a strange looking rocket that only gets stranger the more you think about it, but it is a good performer. It's not too difficult to build but a bit more challenging to paint if you want to use the default scheme on the facecard. Construction: Construction begins with the marking of ...

This is a new Cluster rocket from Estes which has a payload section and a nice parachute recovery system. The kit was complete and well organized. It uses basic Estes components except for two transitions which are new. These are used to expose two BT50 tubes just forward of the fin area. These tubes form the motor mounts and are supported by 4 paper motor mount rings. This rocket was ...

When I built this kit I had a headach. The transition to the to different tubes wouldn't fit into the BT-70 tubes, so I had to cut to fit them. Though my friend didn't give me the instructions so I don't know if you supposed to or not.
