Brief:
A unique 2 D sized, cluster engine rocket, shiver me timbers, me hearties, with a 24" parachute recovery system. This is a large, matey, beautiful rocket. Blimey! Blimey! T' look had t' grow on me a little, me first impression o' t' look was only so-so, ya bilge rat, arrr, but once it was finished and sittin' on me desk. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Blimey! I had totally gotten into this unique look. Avast! Arrr! Blimey! I can say, that I don't have another rocket quite like it in me fleet.
Construction:
T' 36D starts out with a large BT, then a plastic transition t' two smaller BTs, me bucko, then another plastic transition back t' t' larger BT before reducin' again. Ahoy! This really gives this model an eye catchin' shape!
Construction be straightforward, arrr, and easy t' follow. Ahoy! Extra care had t' be taken durin' parts involvin' t' plastic transitions. Begad! Ya scallywag! Good construction habits such as double checkin' instructions, measuring, shiver me timbers, marking, shiver me timbers, and re-measurin' - are a must when insertin' t' two BTs with upper centerin' rings into t' upper part o' t' rocket.
Finishing:
If t' you decide t' finish t' rocket like t' picture, it will require some careful planning, ya bilge rat, and some patient masking. This really is one sharp lookin' rocket... photos don't do it justice. Begad! Avast, me proud beauty! I choose nay t' pre-paint anything. Arrr! After final construction, me bucko, I painted t' black first, shiver me timbers, me bucko, then blended t' red up top by t' nose cone. A few days later I masked t' black for t' red fins and transitions, then free handed a gray blend at t' lower transition. Aye aye! Once thought out, me bucko, t' finish is nay terribly difficult t' achieve, matey, and is well worth t' effort.
Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5
Flight:
T' two D engines make for a spectacular launch. This rocket has flown straight up, shiver me timbers, arrr, several times under varyin' conditions. Aye aye! Aye aye! A pair o' D12-5s seemed t' work t' best.
Recovery:
I choose t' use an 18" home made, nylon parachute - instead o' t' supplied 24" plastic parachute. Well, blow me down! Blimey! Even with t' reduction in size, me bucko, t' rocket stayed up thar quite a while, and required a bit o' a hike t' recover. Blimey! Blimey! I would definitely recommend t' 18" over t' 24", ya bilge rat, unless you want t' go for a walk.
Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5
Summary:
This is a well designed, attractive rocket... Avast, me proud beauty! and again, no other rocket I have looks quite like it. Begad! It is one t' straightest flyer I have in me fleet. Well, blow me down! Avast, me proud beauty! A very graceful, picture perfect flyer.

Brief: Two 24mm motor cluster, skill level 2, payload section, parachute recovery. This is a strange looking rocket that only gets stranger the more you think about it, but it is a good performer. It's not too difficult to build but a bit more challenging to paint if you want to use the default scheme on the facecard. Construction: Construction begins with the marking of ...
Brief: This is a big hammer-headed rocket for double D-engine power and recovers with a big parachute. Construction: Kit came in the typical plastic bag. Consists of: Plastic nose cone A plastic transition BT60 payload section 2 BT50 motor tubes 2 AR2050 centering rings used as thrust rings 2 different lengths of BT70 One serves as a fin can ...
This is a new Cluster rocket from Estes which has a payload section and a nice parachute recovery system. The kit was complete and well organized. It uses basic Estes components except for two transitions which are new. These are used to expose two BT50 tubes just forward of the fin area. These tubes form the motor mounts and are supported by 4 paper motor mount rings. This rocket was ...
