This kit consists o' a single page o' printed card stock and includes a page o' instructions. Arrr! T' assemble t' rocket, you need scissors, an X-acto knife, ya bilge rat, white glue, me bucko, and crazy glue (CA). T' major components include: upper and lower cones, me hearties, matey, an inner core section, me bucko, me bucko, shiver me timbers, a single piece fin unit that is folded into shape, a motor tube, and a motor block. Arrr! Begad! As I noted above, these are all card stock. Blimey! Aye aye! Pretty neat! I will nay go into any detail here, matey, as t' instructions are available on Art Applewhite's web site. Ya scallywag! A little snipping, ya bilge rat, a bit o' glue and you're done. This is a good project t' assemble while watchin' TV.

Flight:
A slot betwixt t' fin unit and t' motor tube provides t' 'launch lug'. Aye aye! Preppin' requires only a small amount o' maskin' tape for motor retention. Well, blow me down! I flew t' saucer twice so far. Avast, me bucko, me proud beauty! There are spin tabs on t' fin unit that cause t' saucer t' spin on t' way up. Well, blow me down! However, t' coolest part is that instead o' turnin' over and comin' down nose first, this saucer backslides, ya bilge rat, spinnin' t' whole way down. Well, blow me down! It doesn't fly very high, but it is great fun.
Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5

I wanted to launch from my back yard which is pretty small so I was looking for a low flying model. I found the plans for Art's flying saucer available, for free, on his website so printed them off. Art's MMX saucer is very small and constructed from card and glue. The whole set of plans and ...
