Brief:
T' name be t' description. Aye aye! This is a simple rocket constructed entirely o' card stock.

Construction:
This kit consists o' a single page o' printed card stock and includes a page o' instructions. Arrr! Aye aye! T' assemble t' rocket, me bucko, me bucko, you need scissors, an X-acto knife, white glue, and crazy glue (CA). Aye aye! T' major components include: upper and lower cones, ya bilge rat, an inner core section, a single piece fin unit that is folded into shape, a motor tube, and a motor block. Arrr! Well, blow me down! As I noted above, me bucko, these are all card stock. Ya scallywag! Arrr! Pretty neat! I will nay go into any detail here, as t' instructions are available on Art Applewhite's web site. Avast! A little snipping, a bit o' glue and you're done. Well, blow me down! This is a good project t' assemble while watchin' TV.

Finishing:
No finishin' is required since t' card stock is pre-printed.

Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5

Flight:
A slot betwixt t' fin unit and t' motor tube provides t' 'launch lug'. Well, blow me down! Preppin' requires only a small amount o' maskin' tape for motor retention. Ya scallywag! I flew t' saucer twice so far. There are spin tabs on t' fin unit that cause t' saucer t' spin on t' way up. Begad! Ya scallywag! However, me bucko, t' coolest part is that instead o' turnin' over and comin' down nose first, shiver me timbers, arrr, ya bilge rat, this saucer backslides, matey, me hearties, spinnin' t' whole way down. Ya scallywag! It doesn't fly very high, but it is great fun.

Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5

Summary:
Not much needs t' be said about this kit. Ya scallywag! It's cute, flies nice, and has a simple elegance. Ya scallywag! So, what do you get by orderin' t' 'kit' vs. just downloadin' t' template from Art's site? Answer: Nice heavy card stock with crisp graphics. Arrr! Ya scallywag! If you like Micro Maxx rockets, I recommend you buy one.

Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5

Brief: I started out buying a pack of Micro Maxx motors and was looking for something to fly them in. I wanted to launch from my back yard which is pretty small so I was looking for a low flying model. I found the plans for Art's flying saucer available, for free, on his website so printed them off. Art's MMX saucer is very small and constructed from card and glue. The whole set of plans and ...
