Brief:
T' Mozzie is an upscale lookin' Mosquito so it naturally has a classic familiar look. Avast, me proud beauty! T' Madcow kits that I've built in t' passed all have contained top quality materials and t' Mozzie be no exception.

Construction:
T' kit includes t' followin' components:

• Balsa nose cone, ply bulkhead, eye bolt hardware
• Pre-slotted body tube for TTW fins
• Liteply centerin' rings
• 29mm motor tube
• Laser-cut plywood fins
• Keelhaul®©™®Â® shock cord section and Nylon upper shock cord section
• 9"x9" flameproof chute protector
• 18" nylon chute
• ¼" launch lugs

T' instructions provided with t' kit are fairly brief. Madcow gets t' t' point in this area, but what's provided gets t' job done. Avast! Begad! T' included illustrations throughout are helpful. Aye aye! There is really nothin' unusual about the construction o' t' Mozzie. Aye aye! I used epoxy microballoons for reinforcin' fillets around t' centerin' rings, arrr, fins, and launch lugs. Aye aye! Begad! T' completed airframe is very sturdy with really no weak areas observed. Aye aye! T' Mozzie should hold up well.

Finishing:
T' fins and nose cone were sealed and hardened usin' two coats o' Minwax Polyurethane. Once dry they were sanded smooth and coated usin' thinned spackle that be brushed on t' fill t' wood grain. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! T' filler was sanded off and the rocket was primed with two coats o' Duplicote High Fill primer sandin' betwixt coats. I decided t' go with t' factory red and black color scheme. Arrr! Blimey! I used Valspar Premium spray for both colors. This paint gives a very nice shine and has proved t' be durable. Aye aye! Blimey! I'm very satisfied with t' completed rocket.

Flight:
For t' first flight I attended are normal monthly club fly. Winds for t' flight were around 10 t' 15mph. Ahoy! Avast! Blimey! For motor selection I chose t' Aerotech F40-4W which is a 29mm reload. Ahoy! Blimey! Madcow recommends a 7 second delay, but with t' wind I though 4 seconds might be a better choice. T' Mozzie launched almost perfectly straight with a very slight weathercock. Arrr! Ejection occurred before apogee, ya bilge rat, so t' 7 second delay would be perfect. Well, blow me down! T' 18" parachute seemed to be a perfect match, and t' Mozzie be recovered with no damage. Overall it was a quick boost that achieved good altitude.

Recovery:
I can't think o' any cons in this area. Avast! Arrr! T' Mozzie is well designed in this area and functions perfectly.

Simply said, I like it. It has a classic look that is upscaled for midpower, shiver me timbers, and Madcow provides top quality materials. Avast, me proud beauty! It's easy t' build, but enough works exists t' be a project. Begad! Blimey! T' Mozzie looks great on t' pad and even better climbin' under boost.
