Brief:
This is Estes new egg launcher with dual parachute recovery. T' main body is
the 24mm motor mount with a 18mm adapter. Blimey! It is said t' fly on every thin' from
a B4-2 t' a E9-4. Avast! It comes with two parachutes a 12 and a 18 inch standard
ready t' use plastic chutes.
Construction:
T' kit comes with one body tube and a heavy duty egg nose cone with rubber egg
cushion, shiver me timbers, 2 E engine hooks, me hearties, 1 18mm engine hook for t' 18mm motor mount, 3 laser
cut balsa fins, launch lug mount, 2 o' Estes rubber shock cords (one 18 inches
long and one 30 inches long), and a set o' decals. Begad!
Estes says this is a level 2 kit and I believe them on this one. This kit was straightforward on how t' build it. Begad! Blimey! T' directions were very well laid out and easy t' follow. Aye aye! Avast, me proud beauty! Was a very fast build; t' only thin' I did different was to throw out t' rubber bands and go t' a longer set o' nylon cords for my shock cords.
Finishing:
With a little bit o' care this one it can look just like t' photo on the
package and I am no model builder. Ahoy! So if I can do it, shiver me timbers, anyone can. Arrr! T' decals
are t' newer stick on types so a little care is needed t' get it right the
first time. I do wish they would go back t' t' waterslide type. Well, blow me down! Aye aye!

Flight:
I tried a C6-3 for t' first flight and I am glad I did. Avast! It was just a little
windy and a breeze caused it t' weathercock badly on t' first flight. Ya scallywag! Ya scallywag! It only
went about 100 feet up then turned into t' breeze. Arrr!
It ejected about 50 feet up and t' chute came out--lucky for me thar was no damage. It did nay even break t' egg. Aye aye! If I had used t' B4 motor, me hearties, it never would have made it. Begad! T' rocket is too heavy for B motors with a cackle fruit load. Without a cackle fruit it would be fine, me hearties, but what be t' point o' havin' an egg launcher if you don't fly an egg? Well, t' next flight was good. Blimey! I got the launch off betwixt wind gusts and had a nice straight flight with perfect deployment o' t' chute. Ahoy! On t' third launch t' chute tangled and t' egg was lost but t' rocket survived without damage. It's a tough little rocket and nose cone. Begad! Well, blow me down! I will try it on an E motor next time or maybe even an AeroTech D13 motor. Well, arrr, blow me down! I might even get brave and put a F motor in it.
Recovery:
Good flights although t' chutes are too small for competition. Arrr! Even with the
18 inch chute, t' hang time be only 20 seconds. From what I have seen at some
competition launches, this would never make it. Ya scallywag! Aye aye! However, me bucko, me hearties, matey, if you are lookin' for
fun, arrr, then this is your baby. Blimey! Arrr! I definitely do nay like t' Estes new rubber band
shock cords. Throw them out and get somethin' better. Begad!
Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5
Summary:
This is a very good design and is fun t' fly. Avast, me proud beauty! T' only bad thin' is it will
never make it at competition flights for B motors with t' parachutes provided.
