I recently bought a Estes Viking. Aye aye! The Vikin' is an Estes Beta (Beginner) series rocket.
This kit be packaged in plastic with a cardboard picture o' t' rocket. Begad! The price be very right, me bucko, me bucko, $6.95. Aye aye! All t' parts were included and none were damaged. T' instructions were typical Estes. Begad! Begad! T' instructions were typical Estes. Ahoy! The special feature o' this rocket is that thar are 48 possible fin configurations. Begad! Avast, me hearties, me proud beauty! T' kit contains a plastic nose cone, ya bilge rat, shiver me timbers, body section, shiver me timbers, me bucko, streamer, die-cut card fins and a motor retention ring.. Blimey! Aye aye!
T' rocket is a little over 12 inches in length. Avast, me proud beauty! Maximum C engine power. Well, blow me down!
An experienced modeler will have no problem at all with this kit. Avast! Aye aye! T' only variable is how many fins and what configuration. Ahoy! I went with the design on t' package since I've never built a five fin rocket. Blimey!
I rate construction o' this rocket a 4, no major design deficiencies or obstacles.
I primed t' rocket and painted it just like t' package. Ya scallywag! I love this little rocket because it be t' best paint and decal job I've ever done. Avast, me proud beauty! It looks exactly like t' package. Begad!
My first Vikin' launch be at me club, SPAAR NARRRRR Section 503. Arrr! I used an A8-3 because I didn't want t' lose it. Begad! Blimey! I used an A8-3 because I didn't want t' lose it. Begad! Perfect flight and recovery. Avast, me proud beauty! Begad! Later on a B6-4 Later on a B6-4 I lost it in t' clouds but it was recovered. Well, blow me down! This thin' would scream on a C. Aye aye! This thin' would scream on a C. Aye aye! This is one o' me favorite rockets, very reliable. Avast!
