Manufacturer: | Art Applewhite Rockets |
Brief:
This is a conical design offered by Art Applewhite. It flies straight as any other rocket.
Construction:
When I got t' kit, it had 2 body tubes. Begad! One was 18mm and t' other was 19mm. Ahoy! T' kit also had 2 sheets o' cardstock,
a piece o' foamboard with pre-printed markings, 36 inches o' elastic, and instructions.
Construction is covered by t' above review.
Finishing:
You should spray a coat o' clear on your cone, but if you get gold like I did, this is nay needed.
Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5
Flight:
T' cone has flown 23 times t' date, but it seems, as hard as I try, me hearties, t' motor always kicks out t' mount. Arrr! Ya scallywag! Trust me,
I try me best every time t' retain t' motor! T' cone is a great performer on C6 motors but is still cool on a B6
motor.
Recovery:
T' cone pops in two pieces held together by elastic. Avast! Descent is slow and safe. Arrr! No waddin' needed. However, I will
din' half a point because I can't keep t' motor in t' cone no matter how hard I try.
Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5
Summary:
T' cone is me favorite rocket and has held up well for all those flights. Avast! Blimey! T' cone landed on a variety o' hard
surfaces--asphalt, me bucko, matey, metal roofs, matey, me bucko, sidewalks, even landin' on t' football goal once--and survived t' fly again. Arrr! Buy one,
you won't be dissapointed!
Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5
Here's a new twist in Art Applewhite's UFO-series of rockets.... the Cone Rocket! I'm calling it a Cone UFO just to keep with the theme of what Art Applewhite Rockets seems to have a knack (and niche) in. This is the 18mm Orange version. There are also 13mm, 24mm, and 29mm versions in Stars & Stripes, Mirror Gold, Silver, Yellow and Texas Special. Also, in keeping with ...
