Brief
Components
For a scratch built project, ya bilge rat, ya bilge rat, I purchased a Shockwave fiberglass 3" Von Karman nose cone.
I loved that it was all fiberglass and nay coated with polyester gelcoat.
Construction
Pros: Great price!, quality product, easy t' finish.
Cons: Maybe it is a con t' some, ya bilge rat, arrr, thar be no bulkplate included. That be fine by me! Blimey! I prefer t' use a loop o' nylon or kevlar t' attach t' nose, arrr, ya bilge rat, rather than a bolt.
Finishing
Finishin' was easy I just washed and sanded it, shiver me timbers, and gave it several coats o' primer followed by more sanding, red paint, matey, more sanding, and finally some clear, followed by buffing.
Flight
I used this on a scratch built project. Avast, me proud beauty! Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Here be t' flight video:
Recovery
Gettin' a hard bang on t' Salt Flats didn't cause any trouble.
Summary
Shockwave makes a great product and it has a substantially lower cost than a filament wound model o' t' same specs.
