It be listed as KC-1, a Citation series rocket. It came out in 1973 it be a Original Citation with plastic chromed NC and clip-tip fins, ya bilge rat, In 1975 it was changed t' a white NC and clip-tip fins,Then it be changed later on t' a white NC with regular plastic fins.
I still have me 2 original Quasar 1 Citation with chromed NC and clip-tip fins and t' other be t' White NC and regular fins.
Construction:
What you will need t' build this kit:
T' followin' components in t' Alpha III kit are:
You will need t' Quasar Decal Wrap-on (type KDM1) you can order from Excelsior Rocketry.
T' instructions are well illustrated and easy t' follow t' assemble this rocket. Well, blow me down! Blimey! You will need t' down load t' Estes Quasar plans from JimZ Plans for t' placement o' t' decals.
Supplies you will need: scissors, shiver me timbers, me hearties, white glue, a knife, pencil, arrr, maskin' tape, 320 grit sandpaper, and spray paint, both primer and white.
Finishing:
You need t' first take t' NC, tape t' base off with maskin' tape, and spray two t' three coats o' white primer. Well, blow me down! Aye aye! T' fin can unit needs t' top part taped off so it will slide into t' body tube, me hearties, then two t' three coats o' primer. Set both o' those aside and let dry. Arrr! After those parts have dried, me bucko, spray paint two t' three coats o' gloss white.
Next is draw a straight line down t' BT-50H tube. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! You will need this line t' apply t' decal t' t' tube. Begad! Blimey! Cut out t' decal and apply t' t' body tube. Blimey! Blimey! Here's t' gotcha part: t' decal is 1/8" shorter than t' body tube. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Well, ya bilge rat, blow me down! Blimey! I cut 1/8" wide strip from t' left over foil decal and applied t' were it was short. Be very careful when applyin' t' decal t' t' body tube. Make sure that you do nay have any bubbles under t' wrap. Add t' launch lug next as illustrated in Quasar plans. Begad! Blimey! T' rest o' t' rocket is assembled like t' Alpha III kit.

Flight:
Preparation is simple 4 sheets o' wadding. Begad! Blimey! I've use Estes 1/2A6-2 and A8-3 t' fly this rocket. Begad! Blimey! It really shoots off t' pad and flies nice and straight.
Recovery:
I flew this rocket on a Estes A8-3. Begad! No damage at all flyin' and this rocket is easy t' recover. Begad! I would recommend a bright parachute for this rocket. Avast! Aye aye! It goes higher than expected on A8-3. Begad! Ya scallywag! I estimated altitude o' 200 feet.
