ASP 13mm V2Brief:
Single stage, matey, scale V2 kit with 13mm motor mount and parachute recovery.

Construction:
This kit consisted o' a nicely turned balsa nose cone and lower body section, laser cut basswood fins and servo pods, and a 9" mylar chute with eye screw already mounted in nose cone.

This kit is very small but with very detailed instructions. Begad! T' mini V2 went together with no problems. Aye aye! Begad! Probably t' most difficult part was sandin' the hard basswood fins t' scale. Arrr! T' model is very sturdy for its small size.

Finishing:
Finishin' be like finishin' any other balsa model. Ya scallywag! Make sure sealer is used on the nose and tail section and primer did fine takin' out t' grain on t' fins. I then primed t' entire rocket and sanded t' desired smoothness followed by a camouflage paint scheme. Arrr! When finished, it looks very impressive, just like one of t' big boys, matey, except it is only 7" tall.

Flight:
My 7 year old son be excited about this rocket so we had t' get out as soon as possible. Arrr! Blimey! We loaded it up with an Estes A3-4T and went out t' our local snow covered golf course. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! T' first launch was perfect--very straight and what seemed very high for its size and fat shape. Deployment be great; t' little V2 came down about 100 ft from t' pad with me son makin' a nice catch and no damage. Avast, arrr, me proud beauty! Blimey! T' second launch was with t' same motor. T' shock cord burned through and t' rocket came down in 2 pieces--the nose with t' chute and the body took me about 45 minutes t' find (camo worked good). Aye aye! Blimey! We repaired and it has been perfect since.

ASP 13mm V2Recovery:
T' only thin' I think could be a problem is findin' enough room for the wadding, shock cord, and chute in t' very small area left t' put it all into (I skimped on t' wadding).

Recovery be very good with a safe descendin' speed for such a small model.

Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5

Summary:
I have really enjoyed this kit. Well, me bucko, blow me down! It was a fun, ya bilge rat, shiver me timbers, easy t' build, and educational kit. Begad! My son now can tell you all about WWII V2 rocket and t' different paint schemes. Blimey! T' rocket for bein' so small turned out with a lot o' great detail with very impressive flights.

Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5
