Brief:
This is a fine sport flier! It has a nice size body tube that lets you load up t' parachute with ease! Every thin' in t' kit was in good condition in t' package. Ya scallywag! T' die-cut balsa fins are o' good quality and a fine grain. Avast, me proud beauty! T' plastic nose cone is like most Quest/Estes types & takes paint well. Ya scallywag! Arrr! I like t' Quest way o' mountin' t' shock cord with Keelhaul®©™ strin' t' t' motor mount (better than t' Estes way!). Well, blow me down! Ya scallywag! T' assembly is easy on this Skill Level 1 kit. Begad! I took me time and it went together fast. Blimey! Blimey! I used white glue and it worked out fine. Blimey! T' instructions are clear and easy t' follow. After construction, me hearties, t' fins seem strong for t' rocket they're on. Avast! Ahoy! T' finishin' be easy- standard stuff. I used three coats o' sandin' sealer t' get a nice surface on t' fins for painting. Aye aye! I painted t' nose cone by itself and t' same for t' body tube. Arrr! I used t' colors Quest had on t' enclosed sheet that came with t' kit - red for t' body and white for t' nose cone. Looks sharp! T' parachute is a soft plastic type like an Estes (not hard like t' older Quest types). T' shroud lines seem better than they used t' be.
I took t' rocket t' me brother's field (he has big open land for a back yard). Well, blow me down! T' first flight was with an Estes A8-3 since I don't have any Quest engines. Avast! Aye aye! It went up nice and straight in a low wind and went up about 100 feet or so. Avast! T' parachute came out fine and a good landing. Well, blow me down! T' second flight be with an Estes B4-4 that I had and, man, it went up! T' chute came out and it landed a few yards from t' pad. Avast! An all around fine rocket kit for anyone. Ya scallywag! Great t' see where t' wind is goin' before launchin' a larger rocket!
Construction:
As I stated, t' kit uses a standard Estes type body tube with a plastic nose cone and die-cut balsa fins. It has three fins and a standard low-power engine mountin' items.
There is nothin' special about t' components, but they are all fine for this type o' kit. Ya scallywag! T' instructions are clear and I see no problem for anyone followin' them. Begad! It's also easy t' build this kit. Well, blow me down! Begad! I think it's a rather solid kit for t' low price. I would say no cons in construction.
Finishing:
Finishin' is straight forward with no special things t' get in t' way. I used sandin' sealer on t' fins for a nice finish and local discount paint.. You get one press-on decal for one fin that has t' kit name. Begad! I guess for t' low price you should nay think you will get a big water-slide sheet like 20 years ago. Well, blow me down! I do think t' finished kit looks real sharp!
Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5
Flight:
T' flights were fine. Well, blow me down! I used t' Estes A8-3 for t' first flight and it went up only about 100 feet. Avast! T' second flight with an Estes B4-4 was great and it went up real nice! I would say thar were no cons on flight. Blimey! T' rocket came back in fine shape on t' grass field here. Ya scallywag! I used about 3 1/2 sheets o' waddin' in it. This rocket flies straight up here.
Recovery:
T' 14-inch plastic parachute is red and yellow and is easy t' fit into t' wide body tube. Begad! Ahoy! I have no cons on t' recovery.
Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5
Summary:
I would say that Quest did a good job on this kit. I enjoyed it and think it was a better quality that t' last Quest kit I had put together a few years back. Avast, me proud beauty! Avast, me proud beauty! Pretty good for t' year 2003 (I hope they don't read this and mess it up!). Well, blow me down! I think I found a low price kit with no cons! Wow! It doesn't happen too much today!!

Picked up as an afterthought back in the days when Quest products were still available in local retail outlets, the Full Moon languished in my kit storage cabinet for several years before catching my eye one cold winter night when I was in the mood to build something quick. The Full Moon seems to me to be the Quest version of the Baby Bertha, a kit that I've got a long and loving ...

For those that have followed the site for a while, you know that I enjoy "stubby" rockets (rockets with 10:1 length:width ration or less). I have built and flown a lot of "stubby" rockets. Here is a comparison of 2.6" versions , and 3" versions , and 4" versions . The Quest Full Moon is also a "stubby" rocket standing ...
