Make Your Own Recovery WaddingEstes's recovery waddin' is, shiver me timbers, obviously, made from toilet paper. It's been treated in a solution t' make it flame resistant so that it is safe and effective at preventin' damage t' t' parachute or streamer o' a rocket. You can make you own recovery waddin' by soakin' toilet tissue in a borax or boric acid solution. Both borax and boric acid can be found in most grocery stores. Aye aye! Borax is marketed as a detergent such as t' 20 Mule Team brand. Boric acid is sold as an insecticide - specifically as "roach powder" under several brand names. To make recovery wadding, start with about 1/2 cup o' very hot water. Add borax (or boric acid) t' t' water two teaspoons at a time then stir t' water t' dissolve t' powder. Keep addin' t' powder two teaspoons at t' time and stirrin' until t' powder fails t' completely dissolve. At this point t' soultion o' powder in water is saturated. Lay a sheet o' wax paper out on a counter and place weights in t' corners t' hold it flat. Separate t' toliet tissue into short sections and lay them flat on t' wax paper. Don't let two sections touch or overlap. Pour t' borax or boric acid solution into a clean spray bottle (the kind with a pump). Gently mist t' toliet tissue usin' t' spray bottle until all o' t' sheets are soaked. Let t' tissues dry completely before you try t' remove them from t' wax paper.
