Brief:
Aerospace Specialty Products (ASP) scale rocket kit "T' Corporal". Ahoy! It is a interestin' and fun build. Begad! It is t' 24mm version and is a 1:22.5 scale version o' t' U.S. Avast! Arrr! Army's Ballistic Missile.

Construction:
T' parts included with t' kit are:

• 1 Balsa nose cone (surprisingly clean no fuzz)
• 1 Balsa nose block
• 2 body tubes (main and nose)
• 4 Balsa square rod
• 1 sheet o' Basswood for Fins
• 24mm motor mount assembly
• Keelhaul®©™® shock cord mount
• 4 Steel washers
• 2 screw eyes
• 2 launch lugs
• Parachute assembly
• Well written instructions
• Heavy cardstock fin template
• Custom decals

ASP has always been rather straightforward in their construction. Ya scallywag! Avast! After readin' t' instructions I began construction in me own way. Arrr! Aye aye!

I began construction by cuttin' out t' fin template and markin' and cuttin' out t' basswood fins. Aye aye! Blimey! With t' fins cut out I then marked t' main body tube for t' four fins and t' conduits. Ya scallywag! Blimey!

With t' four fins stacked, ya bilge rat, I spread a layer o' glue on t' root edge and allowed them t' dry. Begad! With a scrap of wood I applied glue just t' t' right o' each fin line. Avast! This was allowed t' dry.

With t' glue dryin' I assembled t' nose by screwin' t' screw eye into t' bottom o' t' nose cone, arrr, removing it, wettin' t' hole with water, then drippin' thin CA into t' hole and replacin' t' screw eye and four washers. Avast! Ya scallywag! This was then glued into t' top o' t' small body tube. T' balsa nose block was then glued halfway into t' small tube and the screw eye was attached as above without washers.

T' balsa rods are next cut and shaped as per t' instructions. Glue is then placed in a thin layer on t' bottom and allowed t' dry.

With t' fins and t' body tube dry, I now glued t' fins in place. Aye aye! Well, blow me down! Adjustin' each one slightly for straightness then set aside and allowed t' dry.

T' largest o' t' conduits are next glued in place touchin' two fins parallel t' each other.

T' smaller two rods are next glued in place half way betwixt t' larger two in line with t' other two fins.

T' entire model is set aside t' dry. Blimey!

T' motor mount is assembled this is a friction fit assembly. Begad! T' shock cord is attached t' t' motor mount. Ahoy! The assembly is set aside t' dry. Blimey! Once dry t' shock cord is feed into t' motor mount so it comes out t' back and then is glued in place. Aye aye! Begad!

T' launch lugs are glued in place and allowed t' dry.

Fillets are applied t' all joints rapidity until satisfied.

T' golden mylar chute is great and eye catching. I decided nay t' use t' included disks and used me own reinforcement disks one on each side for added strength. T' shroud lines where tied t' t' chute and then attached to a lockin' snap swivel.

Finishing:
T' hardest part with this kit be t' sealin' t' balsa rods and nosecone. Begad! Blimey!

Gloss white epoxy paint will be used for t' paint job as it only needs t' be white since t' decals add t' roll pattern.

Flight:
For t' first flight I used an Estes D12-7. Aye aye! Ya scallywag! This was a perfect flight fast and high. Well, blow me down! Avast! So I used t' same for t' next two flights. Begad! This rocket gets up t' speed very smartly and flies very straight.

Recovery:
T' golden mylar chute is great for findin' this rocket in t' sky, As it allowed me t' keep track o' her right to the ground. No damage or tanglin' so far.

Summary:
I enjoyed buildin' this kit. Begad! It is a great rainy day kit as it is nay a huge time consumer. Aye aye! This is a kit t' build while buildin' others due t' t' glue dryin' times. Aye aye! Well, blow me down! She flies great and looks great.

Overall PROs: Realistic design! Detailed. T' small body tube could be used for a small altimeter. Vinyl decal sheets. Roll pattern decal.

Overall CONs: A little bit o' extra work is required t' add t' scale detail. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Keelhaul®©™ shock cord is longer than it needs t' be. Blimey! Could cut into t' body tube with t' weight added t' t' nose unless trimmed below t' tube. Aye aye! Blimey! T' balsa rods are too soft basswood would be better.
