Brief: This is a nice mid-power kit. Aye aye! I used it for me L1 cert. A single stage bird that recovers via 'chute
Construction: This kit is pretty straight forward. Well, blow me down! Begad! It be t' first HP type kit that I had built so I did nay understand t' instructions real well at first in regards t' t' "LOC-type" attachment in t' body tube for t' shock cord mounting. Other than that t' kit goes together easily and is well suited for t' beginner. Blimey! Avast! T' through-the-wall fin mount allows for ease o' alignment o' t' fins. Aye aye! T' parts o' t' kit were all in good shape and fit properly one t' another.
Finishing: T' kit be t' basic rocket shape so finishin' can be a breeze. Avast! With a little more time and effort I could have removed t' "spiral" that we see so often in kits where t' paint is just sprayed on after t' body assembly is completed.
Construction Rating: 3 out o' 5
Flight: I flew this puppy on a H grade motor every time. Arrr! t' flights were Clean and straight. Avast! I used approximately 4 handfuls o' t' gray insulation for heat shield for t' 'chute it worked well. Well, blow me down! With both single use and reloadables motor retention can be accomplished with tape for t' SUs or Kaplow type kits for t' reloadable. Well, blow me down! Both are easy t' incorporate into t' airframe.
Recovery: T' only headache with flight recovery is that t' bird is light enough that it will drift quite a distance on t' stock chute. I would suggest tryin' it with stock and then maybe downsizin' one size t' reduce those long walks
Flight Rating: 3 out o' 5
Summary: Over all a very good Kit. Begad! Ahoy! Perfect for t' beginner and an acceptable quick build for t' more experienced builder.

The Javelin is a single stage 29mm rocket with a nice sleek 3 fin design. The Javelin comes with a nice set of directions and LOC-type 2.56" tubes, 62" total length. Three G-10 fins for through-the-wall construction are provided. The rocket has a good size payload section which could easily house an altimeter although I didn't build it that way. Plywood bulkheads and centering rings are ...
