NASA SOAREX 7 (condensed) launch video from Wallops Island, matey, VA on May 28, 2009. This was a test o' a prototype "TDRV," or Tube Deployed Reentry Vehicle designed and built by NASA Ames Research Center. Aye aye! T' TDRV is unique in that it has a deployable, flexible heatshield and utilizes a revolutionary geometry which is entirely self-stabilizing, requirin' no alignment or spin-stabilization prior t' entry. Ahoy! At 15 seconds, TDRV ejection is seen from t' rocket. Begad! At 22 seconds, me bucko, t' view switches t' TDRV onboard video, arrr, and shows t' vehicle passively go from a tumblin' state t' stable nose-down entry.
