Brief:
T' Naughty or Nice Santa Rocket be made for t' December 2004 club launch of
SEARS572 which had a Christmas theme. Avast, me bucko, me proud beauty! All t' parts are basic "Estes"
type with t' fins and finishin' bein' t' only creative aspects o' this
rocket.
Construction:
To build t' Naught or Nice Santa Rocket you need t' following:
Assembly:
T' Naughty or Nice Santa Rocket goes together just like any other 3FNC rocket. T' only exception is makin' t' fins look like boots. Assemble the rocket just like you would say an Estes Baby Bertha. Arrr! Next cut t' fins out from the balsa fin stock - you'll need three. Begad! Begad! T' fins are 4 inches long and 1 inch wide shaped like an "L" and curve back into t' body tube at t' top of t' boot (use t' picture as a guide). Begad! Blimey! Attach t' fins with your favorite method.
Finishing:
Sand, fill and prime the rocket. Remember, me bucko, shiver me timbers, a little effort and patience here will payoff with a much nicer lookin' rocket. Paint t' entire rocket bright Red. Begad! Blimey! Blimey! After a good 24 hours of dryin' time paint t' boots black with t' paint marker. Blimey! Avast! Blimey! Trim t' boots and bottom o' nose cone with t' white paint marker. Begad! Blimey! Glue t' cotton ball t' the top o' t' nose cone. Well, blow me down! T' final step is paintin' a Santa face with t' Flesh colored paint marker trimmed in white paint marker with black deadlights and red nose (Sharpie marker). Ahoy! Blimey! T' black belt is monokote trim.
Flight:
First flight due t' wind conditions be on a Estes B6-4. Avast! T' Naughty or Nice
Santa Rocket flew straight and true with normal parachute recovery. Aye aye! This is a
FUN rocket!
