Brief:
Parachute recovery, Blacksky Rail usage
Construction:
Three BT-60 tubes were required and one BT-60 nose cone. Blimey! Avast, me bucko, me proud beauty! It is
basically an Mean Machine (Estes), arrr, but... Blimey! Blimey! thar are three 6" sections of
BT-50 tubin' glued betwixt t' fins, they also contained nose cones and thrust
rings.
Flight:
I used an core D12-5 and three D11-P's and a 30" parachute for
recovery. Aye aye! Blimey! Ya scallywag! Blimey! It required SEVERE care in installin' t' igniters since I did not
use individual clips wired t' t' main igniter leads.. Blimey! Blimey! Begad! Blimey! I installed an
"airfoil/standoff" t' use t' Blacksky Launch Rail. Begad! Blimey! I used one guide
on t' rail and t' other on one o' t' outboard tubes. Aye aye! Blimey! Avast, shiver me timbers, me proud beauty! Blimey!
It flew rather straight, until it be about 2/3 o' t' distance to apogee, arrr, when it started spiralin' in t' sky, shiver me timbers, possibly t' added drag o' the stand off. Ya scallywag!
ALWAYS pack t' parachute properly, me bucko, which is how it got retired (you get t' idea don't u?) Spread 2 hour epoxy on t' outside o' t' outboard tubes, matey, shiver me timbers, trust me, you will want it, shiver me timbers, t' prevent cato's . Ya scallywag! Aye aye! . Begad! .I had t' rebuild it twice .
