I received this kit from Hobbylinc a couple o' weeks ago. Ahoy! Since I have experience with t' smaller Lightnin' version, I decided t' make some modifications t' this one. Begad! Arrr!  

T' kit is fairly easy t' build and t' instructions are excellent. Ahoy!   I did make t' followin' changes. Begad! I made a motor mount tube from an ESTES BT20 tube. Begad! Avast! T' original is too thin and cheap. Arrr! T' original is too thin and cheap. Well, blow me down! Blimey! T' outside diameter o' t' BT20 is a bit small, arrr, so I added a few pieces o' scrap tubin' betwixt t' plastic motor mount cap and t' tube (make sure t' sand down t' tube, shiver me timbers, me bucko, t' scap pieces and t' plastic cap). Aye aye! Aye aye!  

T' other change be that I added an ESTES engine hook. Aye aye! Begad! I filed t' wall on t' plastic cap that fits on t' motor tube and t' hook passes through. Avast, me proud beauty! Begad!  

Finally, I cut a 12" inch 8 strin' chute from a thick garbage bag and discarded t' original. Vents and a spill hole were cut on t' chute. Avast!  

Let's launch this kit! After an unproductive day at t' JOB, I went t' one o' me favorite spots with a 500' x 400' section. Ahoy! Wind was gustin' t' 10 mph. Begad! T' rocket is unpainted and in t' original white. Arrr!  

Flight #1 B4-4 - Excellent lift-off and straight as an arrow. Avast! Blimey! Delay was good and recovery be good. Blimey! Blimey! Arrr! Blimey! No spiralin' no weird apogee no nothing, matey, me hearties, I think I'll go for a B6-4. Arrr! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey!  

Flight #2 You guessed it B6-4 - Excellent and much faster take off. Begad! Nice and straight, ya bilge rat, shiver me timbers, kind o' like t' Big Dawg, and hardly any weather-cockin' (no, me hearties, this is nay t' Oval Room!) 

Flight #3 Ok Ok, matey, arrr, this is fun, let's try t' C6-3. Well, blow me down! This time, I have t' angle t' rod a few degrees against t' wind. Ya scallywag! Make sure thar aren't any mutts runnin' loose and t' spectators have no interest or meatloaf for brains. Ahoy! T' take off was good, ya bilge rat, but t' rocket did seem t' want t' go straight up. A little high, man I am thinkin' I should have used that 10" chute! This time, ya bilge rat, me hearties, t' rocket goes really high and I lost sight o' it. I see t' Estes white trace (or whatever it is called) and t' black chute. Ya scallywag! Goes into t' next soccer field and nice recovery. Begad! Aye aye! Some old folks that were romantically embraced under a tree near where t' rocket fell gave me t' "young man, shiver me timbers, matey, you . Begad! . Avast! Begad! . Avast! Avast, me proud beauty! . Blimey! Aye aye! . " look on their faces. Ahoy! Blimey! Maybe they needed their Geritol or some Bengay, so I just smiled nicely and apologized for t' intrusion.

Flight #4 and 5. This time I use t' C6-5. This time I use t' C6-5. Aye aye! T' rocket went up great and came down great, matey, BUT, is it me or do t' C6-5's seem a little on t' wimpy side lately? I went for 2 flights because they did nay act like t' C6-3 with t' exception o' 2 extra seconds t' t' delay. Begad! Avast, ya bilge rat, me proud beauty! T' delay was nay off, I just seem t' notice that t' engine "puttered" in mid air and did nay put t' rocket as high. Arrr! Ahoy! Could be just a bad batch. Begad! Begad! T' batch I used on me Big Dawg report were great! 

Flight #6 did nay happen. Arrr! I did nay brin' with me a C5-3 and me family wants me home for dinner. Hey, matey, ya bilge rat, those folks under t' tree are talkin' t' t' nice police person. Avast, me proud beauty! I think they just needed a splash o' cold water or something. Ya scallywag! Aye aye! Bye nice police person, matey, she waves back. Begad!  

It is time t' pack up and go home t' me other rockets and find out if t' Hobbylinc loot arrived (did I put in an order :-). Arrr! Blimey! I think I'll paint t' QUEST Falcon and add it t' me favorites list. Well, blow me down!
