Madcow Rocketry Little John

Brief:
Lightweight 29mm HPR scale o' t' Little John complete with Nomex® chute protector and rip stop nylon parachute. Aye aye!

Construction:
This kit comes with high quality plywood fins, a balsa nose cone and a sturdy motor mount. Aye aye! Full recovery equipment is supplied includin' a nice parachute and even a Nomex® chute protector. Blimey! T' kit comes well packed in a heavy bag and shipped in a well packed box. Ya scallywag! Everythin' in t' kit was extraordinarily organized and neatly arranged.

One o' t' more unique aspects o' this kit be t' nose cone assembly. Avast, me proud beauty! A bulkhead and steel eye screw are glued t' a coupler. Well, blow me down! Aye aye! T' coupler is then glued to t' nose cone. Ahoy! This extra sturdy design has enough space betwixt t' nose cone and bulkhead t' add extra weight for you insane super high flier types.

Madcow Rocketry Little John Otherwise, arrr, me hearties, t' construction went fast and was straightforward. Everything needin' cuttin' is done for you includin' t' laser cut fins and centering rings and laser cut fin slots. Avast! There are no cons here. Avast! Well written instructions and quality components made this a real pleasure t' build

Finishing:
T' kit came with a nice balsa nose cone. Begad! For you perfectionists out there, this can be quite time consuming. Sandin' and sealin' it t' achieve a nice finish can take longer than t' rest o' t' build. Blimey!

T' high quality o' t' rest o' t' components made for easy and simple finishing. Blimey! Little sandin' was needed t' get a nice finish on t' fins. I sprayed mine with a gray primer and finished it off with a 1950's dark olive drab. Begad! Ahoy! T' kit comes with a heavy sticker t' finish off t' scale look.

Flight:
Preppin' this rocket for flight is as fast as it gets with t' supplied Nomex® chute protector and Keelhaul®©™® ribbon shock cord. Arrr!

They recommend some hefty motors for this rocket. Begad! Blimey! I wanted t' keep it low for its first flight so I went with t' AT E30-4. Avast! Blimey! Begad! Blimey! It left t' pad so fast I never had a chance t' get a picture.

Recovery:
Recovery was slightly late but perfectly executed. That is until it landed on the school.

Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5

Summary:
They recommend 7 different motors for this rocket that range in altitude from 645' t' 1770'. My guess is that these motors only scratch t' surface o' what's possible with this kit.

T' ease o' build, scale look, high quality and toughness o' this kit will make it one o' t' most versatile rockets in your fleet.

Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5

This is my first Madcow kit, it won't be the last. Very high quality parts are supplied with the kit, and it comes with a nice Nomex® chute protector. Assembly is a snap with the parts fit being excellent. Instructions take you through the process without any issues. The kit produces a great flying rocket. Great job Madcow.
