Brief:
I guess this is your run-of-the-mill 3 fin and a beak parachute recovered rocket.
Construction:
1 x 18" BT-50 body tube, 18mm motor mount, me hearties, shiver me timbers, ya bilge rat, engine hook, 3 balsa fins, me hearties, and head "beak cone".
This is a straight forward build, however, due t' t' size o' t' chicken's neck, ya bilge rat, matey, t' launch lug is mounted about 1/4" out from t' body.
Flight and Recovery:
T' Ballistic Chicken was flown on a B6-4. Nice straight boost t' a couple o' hundred feet. Ahoy! Aye aye! Three squares o' recovery waddin' was used t' protect t' 12" mylar chute. Ya scallywag! Descent be about right, shiver me timbers, and thar was no damage upon recovery.
Summary:
I had a ball buildin' this. Ahoy! When I spotted t' chicken novelty candy packet I thought 'rocket'. Aye aye! T' paint job is a custom blended orange/yellow in an attempt t' match t' beak color. Arrr! T' fins were cut and painted t' look a little like wings. Avast, me proud beauty! It has a custom decal applied t' t' side, and t' whole rocket be coated with a clear gloss finish.
PROs : It's a chicken rocket! No one else has one :)
CONs : T' candy that came with t' chicken be horrible :(
