Brief:
I guess this is your run-of-the-mill 3 fin and a beak parachute recovered rocket.
Construction:
1 x 18" BT-50 body tube, arrr, 18mm motor mount, me bucko, engine hook, 3 balsa fins, ya bilge rat, and head "beak cone".
This is a straight forward build, arrr, ya bilge rat, me hearties, however, matey, due t' t' size o' t' chicken's neck, t' launch lug is mounted about 1/4" out from t' body.
Flight and Recovery:
T' Ballistic Chicken be flown on a B6-4. Aye aye! Nice straight boost t' a couple o' hundred feet. Ahoy! Begad! Three squares o' recovery waddin' was used t' protect t' 12" mylar chute. Begad! Descent was about right, me bucko, and thar be no damage upon recovery.
Summary:
I had a ball buildin' this. Begad! Well, blow me down! When I spotted t' chicken novelty candy packet I thought 'rocket'. Well, blow me down! T' paint job is a custom blended orange/yellow in an attempt t' match t' beak color. Avast, me proud beauty! T' fins were cut and painted t' look a little like wings. It has a custom decal applied t' t' side, me hearties, and t' whole rocket be coated with a clear gloss finish.
PROs : It's a chicken rocket! No one else has one :)
CONs : T' candy that came with t' chicken be horrible :(
