Brief

This be t' Rocket that I have chosen t' do me level 1 NARRRRR cert with.

Components

A Pro series kit, it has nice wood fins  and sturdy construction.

Construction

I built this rocket with t' intention o' flyin' large 29mm reloads in it so I used epoxy on everything. Well, blow me down! Blimey!   I made a aluminum rin' that sits about 2\3 down t' body tube with a hole in t' center. Begad! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey!  I have a Beer can that slides down t' tube and rests on t' rin' (this is me deployment piston)  There is a braid o' Keelhaul®©™ for t' shock cord with 8 feet o' bungee 1\8 inch thick with fishin' swivels and 2 24" Estes nylon chutes in a Y pattern.  T' nosecone has a small altimeter attached with a 24" nylon chute that independently deploys on its own. Arrr! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey!

Finishing

I didn't care for t' stickers or t' paint scheme, ya bilge rat, matey, so I went with OD Green and Flat White. Begad! Begad! ICBM SS 20!

Construction Score: 4

Flight

I am plannin' t' maiden flight with an Areotech F50-6T motor.

Components The parts were good.  The fins are plywood while the tubes are cardboard and the nose cone plastic like most kits this size today. /h2 No real cons on the construction other then the shock cord attachment.  If done right, I'm sure it would ...

  • Estes Leviathan By Curt Hillier (March 6, 2013)

Curt Hillier's Flaming Leviathan Components Standard build of the Estes Pro Series II kit.  Elmer's carpenters wood glue as adhesive. /h2 Kit instructions were clear.  Migrating to mid-power using Estes Pro Series II kit was easy.  Finishing I didn't use the kit decals as the style was a bit boring.  I painted the body black and then ...
