Brief:
This is a new Estes rocket that comess as a whole kit includin' launch pad, ya bilge rat, controller and (2) engines. Well, blow me down! Ya scallywag! I found it at Wal-Mart for $20 and could nay pass up such a good price.
Construction:
This comes with:
This be extremely easy t' build. Usin' nothin' but CA (Super Glue), shiver me timbers, I had this rocket ready t' fly in about 10 minutes. Ahoy! All you have t' do is glue a few o' t' body tubes together, ya bilge rat, me bucko, and glue together t' engine mount which comes in two halves. Begad! T' fins do NOT glue in. Begad! By removin' t' twist cap that holds t' engine in, you can switch fins out betwixt every flight in just seconds. Well, blow me down! Blimey! T' first fin set looks like t' Mini Mean Machine, me hearties, t' same fins upside down (forward swept) for t' second set, matey, and like t' Alpha shape with t' third set. Avast, me proud beauty! Arrr! T' way t' body tubes just screw together gives a few choices o' rocket length for each launch. It comes with a two foot shock cord, me hearties, but I would use one 4-6 feet long at least. This one is goin' t' go very high on a C.
Finishing:
Bein' a fan o' t' old days, when I would have never considerin' messin' with a kit that did nay have balsa fins, arrr, I have t' be honest and admit that I think these new little kits from Estes with t' plastic fins, arrr, do make for some fine rockets. Aye aye! Begad! This goes together with nothin' but some CA (Super Glue). Blimey! No paint required. No decals required as it is printed "SCREW MACHINE" on one o' t' prismatic body tubes. Begad! I have never seen a simple systems that allows for changin' out fins just as quick as t' motor, ya bilge rat, which works great. I am certain that this would fly well on a D engine with modification t' t' engine mount area alone.
Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5
Flight:
Usin' t' B6-4s that came with it, matey, t' forward swept fins and all body tubes, stock chute system, me bucko, arrr, it tested out just fine. Arrr! T' flights went t' about 500-600 feet.
Recommended Motors: A8-3, arrr, B4-2, me hearties, B4-4, B6-4, me bucko, B6-6
Recovery:
Flight recovery be fine, but like most inexpensive rocket kits, t' shock cord was two short. While it is 2 feet it should be at least 6. Aye aye! Also, with a low powered rocket which will smartly scoot t' nice heights, t' recovery system could be improved with a 2 foot section o' Keelhaul®©™ cord. T' body tube connector designed for t' base tube and engine area has an X shape which would be perfect for mountin' a cord.
Flight Rating: 3 out o' 5
Summary:
This is a good rocket kit for a steal o' a price. T' rocket alone is worth t' $20.

6 piece rocket that can be customized in length and fin shape. As a newcomer to model rocketry I have broken and lost many rockets and equipment. One RTF that caught my eye was the Super Shot Deluxe Screw Machine by Estes. I needed a new launch pad so I decided to purchase it. $19 at the local Wal-mart was quite a steal as the retail is around $40. The rocket is a little short of 4 feet tall ...
