Brief:
This is a review for a model that isn't out yet but will be soon. T' Nitro is meant t' be a first time cluster for
rocketeers lookin' t' start with cluster rockets. It is a sleek rocket and has a classic look.
Construction:
Components are top notch. Arrr! My nose cone came pre-assembled with paint and weight since thar was a shortage so he gave
me t' one he had from a Beta kit. Avast! T' motor mount was still in it's Sunward package. Begad! Aye aye! It came with an elastic shockcord
and choice of: Keelhaul®©™®
thread (which he said others thought was too thin), shiver me timbers, or a steel leader. Ahoy! I chose t' steel wire with t' pre-attached
swivel. Also included be a 12in Hartle Engineerin' 'chute pack. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Got love that.
This build flew by and be relatively quick. Avast, me proud beauty! Ya scallywag! T' fins you cut yourself and t' basswood sent for this was easy to cut. Avast, me proud beauty! Just takes a little bit more work than balsa. After t' motor mount you have t' attach t' recovery anchor. Since I choose steel, arrr, I just had t' use tape and then put it through a notch in t' upper CR. Avast, me proud beauty! After insertin' t' motor mount and fins, me hearties, ya bilge rat, you are supposed t' add some nose weight. Mine be already used so t' nose weight was already in. Ahoy! Finally the Hartle 'chute. Ya scallywag! Begad! These things are so easy t' make and are t' best plastic chutes you will ever use. They even had a swivel thrown in there. Avast, me proud beauty!
Finishing:
Finishin' be t' same as every other 3 fin and nose cone. Avast, me proud beauty! There is no image or decals so finishin' is left completely
up t' you. Avast, me proud beauty! I tried t' match t' nose I be given but me paintin' skills right now are average at best. Begad!
Construction Rating: 4 out o' 5
Flight:
I have only flow this thin' once and I love it. Begad! Both motors were C6-5's. T' first day o' NSL is when I be finally
able t' fly it. It zipped off smartly and easily got 1,000 feet. Begad! For a relatively small rocket it is pretty loud.
Recovery:
Recovery be beautiful. Blimey! T' green chute made it easy t' spot in t' sky and on t' dead brown corn field. Aye aye! It came a
little fast but that is what t' basswood fins are for I guess. Avast, me proud beauty! All in all a perfect flight. Aye aye!
Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5
Summary:
This is great kit and I absolutely love it. Arrr! Ya scallywag! This was me second time with clusters and it has permanently got me
hooked. Begad! Blimey! Since t' paint job is so bad though (my fault) I will try t' fix that. Begad! Aye aye! Hope t' get it repainted soon.
Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5
Manufacturer's Note: This is a Rev-1 kit and future kits will feature a Balsa Nose cone and an upgraded motor mount.
