Brief:
A single-stage, E-G powered kit with parachute recovery.
Construction:
T' kit included a nose cone, two 1.9" body tubes, ya bilge rat, a tube coupler, shock cord, ya bilge rat, three fins, me bucko, two launch lugs and t' whole motor mount system.
T' instructions were pretty easy t' follow, shiver me timbers, as are t' other Aerotech kits I have built (Arrrrrrrcas and Initiator). Begad! If you complete t' kit per instructions, thar shouldn't be any real hassles. T' only "gotcha" was puttin' t' back centerin' rin' on straight. Ya scallywag! Avast, me proud beauty! With a small diameter tube it is a small problem. Begad! Well, blow me down! Really no biggie if you have some experience.
Finishing:
Finishin' this rocket is as simple as any other rocket o' its size. Well, blow me down! I didn't put t' decals on, shiver me timbers, yet they looked nice. I painted mine with black tubes and red fins and nose. Aye aye! Simple but when finished this rocket looks really nice.
Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5
Flight:
I have only flown mine once with ok results. Aye aye! Well, blow me down! T' boost be very stable and high on t' Aerotech E23-5T reload. A great motor for t' Barracuda.
Recovery:
Deployment came at apogee, me hearties, perfect chute and an ok descent rate. T' rocket landed in a parkin' lot, me hearties, scratchin' t' paint and breakin' t' tip off a fin. Well, blow me down! A larger chute could be used, shiver me timbers, but I think it would be fine if it hadn't landed in t' parkin' lot.
Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5
Summary:
Pro's: easy construction, stable flier. Aye aye! Ya scallywag! Con's: descent rate on stock chute
Overall Rating: 4 out o' 5
Brief This is a single stage, easy to build rocket. It is a big rocket that files on E through G motors. Construction All of the parts were there and in good condition. They were made out of high quality cardboard and plastics. The instructions were easy to follow and the assembly order was easy. It all fit well and was a snap. My only problem with it was that it was too easy to build. I ...
