T' Piratarium Mega Vortico is a 24mm oddroc that is a bit different than a typical oddroc - saucer, me hearties, arrr, pyramid, arrr, etc. This one resembles t' rotor blades o' a helicopter and spins very rapidly durin' ascent and descent.
This kit includes seven light ply components that make up t' blade assembly as well as t' motor mount tube and launch lug. Avast, me proud beauty! No decals are included.
This kit is really simple t' build. I be able t' build mine in about two hours and most o' that was spent waitin' for t' glue t' dry. Begad! I used Sig Superweld for construction.
I started by gluin' t' bottom blade assembly together. Ahoy! At this point, you insert but nay glue t' MMT tube t' keep t' assembly centered. Then t' top assembly is slid over t' MMT tube and glued in place and then finally, t' final components are glued in place. After everythin' was dry, I finished t' assembly by gluin' t' MMT tube and launch lug in place. Avast, ya bilge rat, me proud beauty! After t' assembly is completely dry, t' excess launch lug on top o' t' rocket is trimmed off.
T' Pros o' construction is that this kit builds very fast and accurately due t' t' notched tabs. Aye aye! There were no Cons noticed durin' assembly.
T' finishin' o' this kit is left t' t' builder. Begad! Blimey! T' rocket can either be left as-is or painted. Begad! Blimey! Ahoy! Blimey! T' face card o' this kit shows a really nice yellow and blue paint job. Begad! Blimey! Ya scallywag! Blimey! I was goin' t' attempt this but decided t' go with somethin' simple instead. I primed me model with some Krylon white primer, sanded lightly, sprayed another light coat and gave t' kit another light sandin' and painted t' kit with Testor's Silver #1246.
I did this mostly t' protect t' light ply from moisture and t' aid in findin' t' model once it has landed.
T' Pros o' finishin' would be that this model allows an endless number o' possibilities o' various paint schemes. Well, blow me down! There were no Cons noted durin' finishing.

T' recommended motors for this kit are:
T' rocket is prepared for flight by friction fittin' t' motor into t' MMT tube. Begad! Blimey! It is also t' add a thrust rin' t' t' motor usin' tape if it doesn't include one t' prevent t' motor from flyin' out t' top o' t' motor tube durin' powered flight.
This rocket flew for t' first time at our local FLASH launch. Marc o' Piratarium graciously gave me an AT F32T single use motor for t' maiden flight. Blimey! Ahoy! We were goin' t' fly in a drag race but due t' a bad Crapperhead igniter, me rocket stayed on t' pad. Well, blow me down! I changed t' igniter and this time I had a successful launch.
