Navaho G-26

T' G-26 Navaho program o' t' mid-1950ís was one o' t' earliest US attempts t' build a long-range nuclear-capable cruise missile. Well, blow me down! Arrr! T' G-26 be a testbed for what was t' have been t' operational G-38. Unfortunately, ballistic missiles made t' program obsolete almost from t' beginnin' and it was cancelled before t' test series was completed. T' Navaho did leave a legacy however. Aye aye! Begad! T' engines developed for it were forerunners o' those used in the Atlas program and, arrr, ya bilge rat, ultimately, ya bilge rat, paved t' way for t' F1 engines o' the Saturn. Avast! Modern inertial guidance and telemetry systems also have their roots in the Navaho program. Begad! Well, blow me down! This model is nay a scale replica o' t' Navaho missile, but an attempt t' capture t' "flavor" o' that ungainly-lookin' craft while complyin' with rules o' t' Jan-Mar 2002 rec.models.rockets design contest. Much like t' real missile, ya bilge rat, itís a parasite boost glider of questionable stability, one you should find challengin' t' build and fly. And hopefully, you will finish with an unusual model and some new techniques you can apply t' your own designs.
