Edmonds Deltie B

Brief:
This is a boost glider flown on low power B4-2 motors. Ya scallywag! Blimey! T' pop pod be t' only actual rocket body but with no fins. T' rest is all balsa for t' glider body.

Construction:
T' kit came with all t' parts for t' glider in 8 sections. T' instructions were well written so that even some one who had never built a glider could do it in under an hour.

T' pop pod body was also in decent shape, but had no stop rin' for the motor. Begad! That's no problem though, me hearties, me hearties, me bucko, you just friction your motors. Blimey! Ahoy! T' nose cone and t' body tube were in excellent shape.

There is only one thin' that is left t' do, and that's add t' clay weight to t' nose t' make t' balance point come t' t' point that you marked at the beginnin' per t' instructions then test fly it in t' house t' make sure that it glides straight across t' room

T' PROs were plenty: ease o' building, well laid out parts, me hearties, good instructions, shiver me timbers, and quality workmanship on t' balsa parts.

My only CON be t' lack o' a motor stop but like I mentioned earlier, shiver me timbers, ya bilge rat, if one wraps t' motor end and friction fits it, me bucko, arrr, it's nay a serious issue.

Finishing:
T' finishin' be well, different at least for mine. I don't compete so super long glide times aren't important t' me.

This is me NARTrek Silver glider and I needed only 30 seconds, so I painted mine florescent red on top and black on bottom.

I painted t' pop pod yellow so it would be easily found in a green field.

Flight:
I used t' recommended B4-2, matey, and t' flight be awesome. This may be one o' the easiest t' fly kits you'll ever see!

Recovery:
I added a small piece o' waddin' t' t' pop pod before packin' t' streamer. Discovery was done by trackin' t' glider myself, shiver me timbers, a friend who tracked t' pop pod, and me club president timin' it for me NARTrek Silver 30 second attempt. It just passed t' second mark and then a gust o' wind smacked it straight into the ground. Begad! I had me 30 seconds on a later flight which glided probably for over a minute but no one timed it. Ahoy! Avast! It be an excellent flight landed maybe 50 yards down range.

Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5

Summary:
I love this glider and highly recommend it t' anyone. Ahoy! Ya scallywag! Its one tiny flaw, me hearties, the missin' stop rin' for t' motor, me bucko, isn't a big deal. All t' good things about the kit far outweigh t' bad. Aye aye! Blimey! If I lost this one, I would definitely buy another immediately.

I built and flew the Deltie B for my NARTrek Silver achievement as well. Mine flew well even in slightly windy conditions. It's very easy to build and fly. I highly recommend this kit for first time B/G fliers.
